People are easier to control the the city where they can be made dependent on the government for their water, food, transportation, etc. There is no slave like the one who not only does not think he is a slave, but thanks his master (the state) for providing for him (section 8, food stamps, government transportation, etc)

The hot water only ran from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM and from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
It was the same later that year when I stayed in a Russian hotel.
Still better than Brazil, where there is no hot water at all anywhere. The showers are heated by electric units on the showerhead.

Sales of new single-family houses in January were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 481,000, according to estimates released today by the U.S. Census Bureau.
