On the first day we saw the North Charleston, South Carolina, shooting video of Walter Scott by Officer Michael Slager we were as shocked as everyone. However, as research now indicates there is much more to the story.
What we cover here in the latest update might just change the entire way the story continues

By the same people who are responsible for exonerasting George Zimmerman, genius.
As opposed to disbelieving every complaint against a cop? Sometimes things are what they are, and police officers do lose their head and do stupid things.
A bit difficult to follow the article I thought. In any case the court of public opinion was in within minutes of the video posting. More riots in the future if this articles analysis holds any legal weight.
Thank God SOMEONE here has a functioning brain and does due diligence before commenting!
cops are no supermen, not anymore
all tricked out by Holder’s DOJ with combat gear and mentality to fear and suspect American citizens as hostiles and too many departments accommodate the presence of small men with big egos
soon to have active duty military as partners
I get stopped these days I fear for my life and desperately hope there are witnesses close by
Bull Butter.
There is no amount of retelling the tale that will overcome what is clearly obvious to us and the Slager in the video: Slager knew where the taser was because he and Scott were struggling for it. After Scott broke away to run, Slager’s hands were the last hands touching it. Scott was fleeing with empty hands and Slager shot him *deliberately* in the back. He even took a good second to get a clear sight picture before the first shot (ie, they weren’t particularly “rushed” shots). The cop proved he knew Scott did not have the taser and he proved he knew the shoot was bad when he suddenly got the idea to run back to his firing point to pick up the taser he (Slager) had dropped in order to draw his pistol and move it TEN YARDS closer to Scott. Stick a fork in that cop. He’s done.
Now opinions may vary and a high-dollar lawyer may get the jury to (one extent or another) ultimately buy this load of horse-hockey about the cop being “in fear”, but current and former cops know better. Everyone with two eyes to see and two brain cells to rub together knows the cop was wrong. Dead wrong. I hate to see it and I wish he hadn’t lost control of himself, but it’s done and it can’t be undone.
Please don’t insult us by using the NYT when you haven’t even analyzed the information linked here.
“Some tasers have multiple cartridges loaded”
Which models?
Because if it wasnt a new X3.....you are BSing people.
After reading this thread I have yet to form an opinion as to what the facts are, primarily because of all the “reverse racism” and outright media distortions of the truth.
You made the statement: “- - - youd know that there are in fact circumstances(not necessarily these) where you MUST shoot someone running away from you. If I have to explain it to you, you were not trained properly as I was.”
Please explain? I would like to know under what circumstances can someone be shot as they run away from a police officer that would fit the scenario being discussed here?
Where did you get that it’s murder 1?
Dont insult my intelligence when the video clearly shows wires trailing Mr scott....yet his hands are empty.
And how the hell do you explain the officer placing an object next to Mr scott’s body after the shooting?
How do you know he didn’t reload the cartridge? There was ample time. Read the post.
Golly, imagine that. You made up your mind already, I’m merely doing due diligence.
Post 66. I agree.
This explains the comical way the thug runs away. I never understood why he was running that way before. Now I now- he was tangled in the wire(s).
You better believe the defense will use all this and point to tons of reasonable doubt. If there is any conviction at all, it will NOT be murder.
Yes it is OK if the person is dangerous.
Read-read my comment. Slowly.
Due diligence my behind. You accuse me of making up my mind, well you've done the same except on the opposite side of the question.
I’m pretty sure the cop, slager, tosses the taser behind him as he is reaching for his sidearm.
I like the conservative tree house, but I think they are wrong here, I think slager shot Scott, or tried to with the taser, maybe they wrestled for it, but it sure looks to me that slager threw the taser behind him as he he reached back and drew his sidearm. It also appears to me that a fired cartridge is trailing after Scott from the the probe wire that is looks to be in his leg. Maybe slager is tangled in a wire I don’t know that.
Also I highly, highly doubt he would have been fired and indicted this quickly, if Scott had actually taken the taser and fired in into slager, if at all.
