Harold Ekeh has a very tough decision to make.
The 18-year-old Long Islander has waited anxiously for weeks since sending off his college applications.
But he didn't expect this.
Harold has been accepted by every single one - including all eight Ivy League schools.
It comes a year after another high schooler from Long Island, Kwasi Enin, was met with the same news. He chose Yale....

Without looking at his picture, does one know what ethnicity he is of? ( OK, It doesn’t and should not matter, but just take a guess ).
I don’t guess Asian.
What do I win?
Ain’t being a minority great?
Are you suggesting EEO? I don’t think we need to sink that low.
Seriously — the article seems like he is an upstanding young man.
as long as the check clears, they will welcome a blind groundhog. They all get indoctrinated the same in any case.
It does matter, because depending on your ethnicity, you either get bonus admission points or penalties.
Moved from Nigeria to Long Island at the age of eight, got 2270 in his SAT. I suspect the score had a lot to do with it.

Amish?

I have no doubt that this is an outstanding young man with a bright future, and I wish him all the best.
Nevertheless there is no Asian kid who would ever get into half those schools, even with perfect SATs, 4.0’s since kindergarten and a recommendation letter from Mother Theresa.
I mean he’s the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy.
No wait, I’m thinking of someone else.
Could be wrong , but I bet there are LOTS of outstanding young men who don’t score those kind of acceptance letters.
'Zat you, Joe?
Sharing the news of his son's achievement on Facebook, Mr Ekeh wrote: 'Bless the LORD... Congrats Son, in Jesus' name!!'
How can you argue with that?
I also find that many Nigerian immigrants are as diligent and serious about getting ahead in school as are the Chinese or Koreans. Of course it also makes the Ivy's happy they can fill their self-imposed quota of black faces.
Ivys only accept the top 3-5% of applicants (for each minority) unless you give them a big check in advance.
