As major corporations, business leaders and organizations continue to speak out against Indianas Religious Free Restoration Act, Nike President and CEO Mark Parker said this new law is bad for business.
Parker released his statement to the Human Rights Campaign the nations largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender civil rights organization. He said Nike proudly stands for inclusion for all and he hopes Indiana will quickly resolve this issue.
We believe laws should treat people equally and prevent discrimination. Nike has led efforts alongside other businesses to defeat discriminatory laws in Oregon and opposes the new law in Indiana which is bad for our employees, bad for our consumers, bad for business and bad for society as a whole, Parker said in a new release.
Nike, one of the worlds largest athletic apparel companies, is a longtime supporter of HRC. Nike was among one the first businesses to establish nondiscrimination protections for LGBT employees.
Discrimination against people of faith is cool, though, right Nike?
Why is it that so many of these big corporations are always caving in to the left on everything? The homosexual agenda, gun control, affirmative action, the environmentalists, illegal immigration, etc?
Remember this the next time the left decries corporate influence in politics.
Because they are all rent seekers these days
Why couldn’t he keep his mouth shut!
Sheesh...
Meh.
Indiana University is an Adidas school.
all these corporations trying to influence politics...I thought this was baaaddd!
What do the Koch brothers have to say????
Wonder how many shoes Nike sells in countries where homosexuality is a crime punishable by death? “Just do it” in Saudi Land? Hmmmmm.
Mark Parker is another liberal hypocrite. His high profits come out of the sweatshops he owns in China, Indonesia and other cheap labor populations. Indiana’s RFRA law is a chance for Parker to grab free advertising.
This guy has little children in another country making his crap shoes for practically nothing, and he thinks he can preach to other people about what they are doing “wrong”. Physician heal thyself.
Koch brothers are pro-gay libturds.
Their fornication with Red China is part of it. The communists always wanted to undermine the morals of the USA as a precursor to making the country fall.
A corporate head doing what corporate heads do best: CYA and suck up to the current trends.
Not surprised, though. Much of Corporate America is as PC as any leftist college, and are far more craven about taking a stand that might be controversial, at least on social issues. There are exceptions, of course. But it’s been my experience a lot of big mega-corps are not, by and large, a friend to conservatives.
They are as much crony capitalist fascism enablers & profiteers as any Krupp, Hugo Boss, Fritz Thyssen, I.G. Farben and the rest.
Nigel Farage of the United Kingdom Independence Party spoke at CPAC earlier this year describing the UK political system as “Corporatism”, a unifying of Big Business, Big Banks and Big Government.
The attack on First Amendment religious freedom bills in Indiana and now Arkansas spearheaded by Big Business with the Republicans folding quickly in Indiana seems to illustrate the existence of such a system in this country.
The GOP commitment to Amnesty for illegal immigrants also seems to point to such a system in our country as well.
I wonder if he knows what Indonesia’s laws on LGBTQWERTY people are? No one in the press will ever ask him.
Another one added to the boycott list.
Does Nike do business in China??
I see that Sheriff David Clark is slamming the republican “leadership” for standing back and watching this go on.
