As Oregons Democrat governor, John Kitzhaber, resigns in disgrace amidst a slew of scandals involving ethics and financial improprieties, the likely successor will be Oregons Secretary of State, Kate Brown.
Kitzhaber has resigned and his resignation takes effect on the 18th of February. Brown, a Democrat, is the likely successor as Oregon holds no Lieutenant Governor position and the responsibility falls upon Brown.
Brown is married to Dan Little, but has been open about her bisexuality and she will be the first openly-bisexual governor in U.S. history.
Oregon remains a state divided; while the Beaver State is known for hipsters and liberalism, the state is very much divided as the majority of the state is Republican-leaning, while the larger population centers of Portland and Eugene are extremely liberal and produce high voter turnouts.
Browns role as secretary of state has been relatively uneventful. However, prior to her job as secretary of state, Brown was a state representative and crusaded for increased scrutiny of campaign contributions, a signal that the new governor might concern herself with one of the biggest threats to Democrat strongholds: increased freedom for campaign contributors.
Brown will likely tout the need for transparency after Kitzhabers resignation. On Thursday, the Department of Administrative Services confirmed that Kitzhaber has requested that emails to and from his office be destroyed. The DAS has refused to honor the request.
Still, Brown is not without her own scandals. The Washington Post reports
Even as Kitzhabers personal troubles were mounting late last month, she was facing questions about having written to the FCC endorsing Comcasts merger with Time Warner Cable after having received campaign contributions from Comcast a letter that was reportedly written in large part by a Comcast lobbyist. Comcast has given Brown $9,500 since 2009, according the National Institute of Money in State Politics.
Expect that to come up when she succeeds Kitzhaber.
Whether Brown will simply be a governor who happens to be bisexual or whether she will be a crusader for a pro-homosexual agenda is yet to be seen; Oregon is one of the majority of states who passed a voter-approved ban on same-sex marriage, but in cooperation with activist courts, has all-but disregarded the voter-approved protection of traditional marriage.
Pretty much takes away the Sodomite’s excuse that they are born that way.
Now they have to prove they are born both ways.
That’s a man!
He’s better looking.
If you would like more information about what's happening in Oregon, please FReepmail me.
I lost my Oregon list when my computer crashed last year, so please send me your name by FReepmail if you want to be on this list.
Degrees where you’re only qualified to work in government.
She’s as ugly as sin on Sunday. Oregon should pass a law that she has to wear a paper sack over her head.
I use the principal that I want the government so weak that even in the complete control of the worst people possible it can do little or no damage. This means it can’t do much when people I like are in power, but so be it. It’s why so many of use fervently fought the PATRIOT act and such- it’s not how the act can be used by a good president, it’s how much damage it can do in the hands of a bad one.
Ease up folks, It doubles her chance for a date.
Believe me she needs all the help she can get.
Looks like she’s showing off her inner Linda Lovelace.
Her girl toy likely getting pissed about then.
The first “I screw anything that moves” Governor moves into vacated position.

Bisexual Governor-to-be eats microphone at first press conference.
