Seemed fitting to post this in light of Barack Obama's comments today on Christians at the National Prayer Breakfast.

Obama condemns those who seek to 'hijack religion'

".....Obama had a more non-denominational message for the audience that also included prominent leaders of non-Christian faiths. The president said that while religion is a source for good around the world, people of all faiths have been willing to "hijack religion for their own murderous ends."

"Unless we get on our high horse and think that this is unique to some other place, remember that during the Crusades and Inquisition, people committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ," Obama said. "In our home country, slavery and Jim Crow all too often was justified in the name of Christ.

"So it is not unique to one group or one religion," Obama said. "There is a tendency in us, a simple tendency that can pervert and distort our faith."

Obama called for all people of faiths to show humility about their beliefs and reject the idea that "God speaks only to us and doesn't speak to others."....

>> suffers from the delusion that God dictates his every move

What if it’s not a delusion, Annie? Wrap your narrow atheist mind around *that*.

Here we go...The future of our republic will hinge on SW’s ability to articulate the ignorance of such attacks against his religious beliefs.

I know who Obama's God is.

Matthew 7:15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. 16 You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? 17 Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them.

“The Progressive” makes me believe the Left is very frightened of this man, and they are now laying the groundwork to establish him as some sort of right wing religious zealot WAY TO RADICALLY EXTREME to be our President.

I do believe they will make some headway on this tack, but his track record should prevent their total success. Perhaps I’m hoping more than anything, but I see him as a great candidate, and leader for this time in history. Him, or Ted Cruz.

And they will twist it like this “Following orders” interpretation (journalism) headline.

The dogmatic unwillingness of Wis. Gov. Scott Walker to negotiate or to compromise with Democrats or unions has surprised many people in the state. One explanation for his attitude may be found in his religious convictions. In a talk to the Christian Businessmen's Committee in Madison on November 13, 2009, Walker, who was raised by a Baptist preacher, spoke about his personal relationship with God, his "walk to Christ," and his belief in the need to "trust and obey" the Lord....Walker's views disturb Annie Laurie Gaylor, co-president of the Freedom From Religion Foundation.

No doubt Ms Gaylor brought this story to Matthew Rothschild's attention at The Progressive. before it was published on March 7, 2011.

Here we go again. They see the threats and take the lying page out while they secretly want Bush as he;s useless and even if he won they know they could still advance their liberal agenda

"It is frightening that the highest executive in our state suffers from the delusion that God dictates his every move," she says. "Consider the personal and historic devastation inflicted by fanatics who think they are acting in the name of their deity."

Okay, class... how many textbook fallacies can you spot in these two sentences? :)

A few counter-examples:

1) “It is frightening that the media of [what was once] the most powerful nation on Earth suffer from the delusion that moral relativism and anti-theism (and hysterical misrepresentation of opponents) is not only normal, but a requirement for good journalism.”

2) “Consider the personal and historic devastation inflicted by anti-theists who think that obliteration of religion is a moral imperative.” (Care to compare body counts, anti-theists?)

Perhaps if Walker’s God ordered him to kill infidels the MSM would be more supportive.
