A day after President Barack Obama addressed a joint session of Congress with the State of the Union address, House Speaker John Boehner is inviting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to speak before the same group of lawmakers next month.
In a letter to Netanyahu dated Wednesday, Boehner invited the Israeli leader to address the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate on February 11. It would be the prime ministers third appearance before Congress.
Prime Minister Netanyahu is a great friend of our country, and this invitation carries with it our unwavering commitment to the security and well-being of his people, Boehner said in a statement.
The Speaker added that he is requesting that the Netanyahu speak about the threats posed by radical Islam and Iran.
In this time of challenge, I am asking the Prime Minister to address Congress on the grave threats radical Islam and Iran pose to our security and way of life, he said. Americans and Israelis have always stood together in shared cause and common ideals, and now we must rise to the moment again.
CNN reports Netanyahu has accepted the invitation.

‘Dont believe it.’
Because there’s nothing a Malignant Narcissist likes better than hearing a person he passionately hates challenge/undermine one of his rainbows and unicorns SOTU themes.
Valerie Jarrett is a complicit, willing stooge for Iran.
She, like Iran, is vehemently opposed to these sanctions, and she is the puppeteer who controls Obama’s strings.
So yes, the White House is very afraid of these sanctions passing.
I agree with you and I am encouraged by Boehner’s invitation to the the Israeli PM.
Bibi is coming to essentially campaign against Obama’s Iran policy. Why would Obama want that?
Thumbs up for Boehner! Please, people, don’t attack him now (and I too think he’s weak and worthy of attacks) because you don’t like something else he’s done. Support this!!!
I can’t wait. Loved his last visit/speech and it will be soothing to my migraine after last night.
The breach of protocol is laughable (with tears) considering the burning of the Constitution done every quarter hour by this administration.
I didn’t say Obama wanted it. I said Obama was briefed on it by the GOPe ahead of time.
You better lower your batting average.
Right! It is just for show. You can bet that if Obama did not actually want him to come, boner would not have invited him.
” You better lower your batting average.”
You had better guess again. Boner has done 100% of what Obama wanted on the domestic front, which is what his job is. This is nothing but PR to help Boner fool people like you.
” It is just for show. You can bet that if Obama did not actually want him to come, boner would not have invited him.”
Of course. And this has nothing to do with domestic issues.
