For 100 years, the federal government has usurped powers not delegated to it in our Constitution.
What should we do about it? Should we reclaim our existing Constitution and put an end to the usurpations?
Or should we modernize the Constitution by changing it so as to delegate to the federal government the powers it has usurped so as to legalize what is now unconstitutional?
Mark Levin begins The Liberty Amendments by saying he doesnt believe the Constitution requires modernization through amendments. But he then proposes a series of amendments, six of which modernize our Constitution to delegate to the federal government most of the powers it has usurped during the last 100 years.

Did you read the article?
Just have a judge, any judge, just one single judge somewhere in this big country to rule them unconstitutional. That’ll be the end of that. Is there anything happening that tells you they won’t do that? We’ll get mad, all the people involved will get mad, but they won’t have any plan to stop it and our reps wont’ do anything because they hate term limits.
I wouldn’t debate Levin on what color the Alabama Crimson Tide wears. People who agree with him get called “stupid jerks” unless they agree with him the right way.
You’ve got that right. And God help you if you DISagree with him.
The government hasn't be federal for a hundred years. The 17th Amendment overnight turned a federal republic into a democratic republic.
If you support federal government, you should support Levin's amendments. They not only return the states to the senate, they super-federalize the government with additional ways for the states to check DC.
Neither the proposed amendment to empower 3/5s of the States to override any federal law nor the proposed amendment setting term limits is addressed in the article. Do you have any comment regarding the proposed amendments discussed in the article?
Basically, pretty good criticisms. The author identified the unintended consequences of proposed laws. Most such amateur “legislators” forget, that if passed into real laws, their work product will be interpreted by judges. The wordier the proposed”laws” the greater the room for “construction,” and “interpretation” by judges. Judges are no longer our friends.
Levin calls ‘em as he sees ‘em. When a caller is polite, levin responds in kind. When one is rude or cocky, all bets are off. And I love him. He’s a good man. Bob
And protect their citizens from having to contribute to federal funds. Otherwise it's all out, nothing in.
So, where lies YOUR hope for a better America? What is your solution? More Boehners and McConnells to save us?
A constitutional amendment that prohibits Congress from exempting itself or any other branch of the government from any law passed by Congress.
Eliminate income tax withholding and make tax day the day before federal elections. Imagine the voters reaction when they get a huge bill from the IRS and have to write that check the day before the election.
You assume that “salvation” is possible. I see no evidence that it is. We will live for a long time in a process of perpetual decline. The American of European heritage will disappear into poverty, ignorance and a victim of insult, assault and death. The latter for the purpose of providing amusement for others. Sorry!
Fair answer. Levin believes in fighting ‘til his last breath, however.
Marks has read some of the contents of some of his amendments. They seem so filled with legalize that they create more ‘unintended consequences’/legal loopholes [a treasure for lawyers] than they resolve.

The supporters of an Article V seem to think only they can propose amendments and, thus, control the process.
The Leftists/Progressives and their lawyers will be lined up from California to DC to challenge anything they don’t like.
Where was the requisite “BARF” alert?
We already have tyranny; Levin is simply trying to fight it.
Obama has repealed Article I Section 1, which established the American republic. Vast powers have left the states, people and congress, and swirled into the executive and judicial departments.
There is no republic to lose, yet possibly a republic to regain, through a state convention to propose amendments.
I had hoped that the new bureaucracy would be the several states themselves.
What good would federal picking and choosing do if the states don't let them get away with it by simply acting themselves as if the feds are operating without charter?
Would we see a Democrat administration roll tanks through downtown Dallas or Tallahassee?
