Please pray for my uncle. This is a shock and the outcome looks dire.
Bottom line, he apparently fell, hit his head, and has bleeding on the brain. Hospitalist there told us she does not think he will recover. My mom very upset.
Still have not been able to contact his many children all over the country. Praying we can at least get hold of them before anything more dire happens.
There is much to this story I won't bother with now. Point is he is an old man, but was very healthy. Suddenly, on Christmas, he is conked out and it looks like we will not get to talk to him again. I pray that is not true.
Will pray for your family.
My little ones will add him to their prayers tonight.
Prayers up for your family.
Prayers for him and all of your family. I pray he has a full recovery.

Praying for your uncle.
Falls are really serious for older people and I reluctantly am beginning to enter that territory.
My Father fell and broke his hip and thigh bone when he was around 87, in 4 places. The bones healed pretty well but he never walked again. He died in a nursing home at age 90.
I noticed that his mind was clear until he fell then after he became non-ambulatory, his mind seemed to go too.
It sounds like your Uncle has a tough road ahead of him.

Falling and banging your head in the process is certainly bad news for older people. It usually doesn’t have a good outcome. I’ve known several people in that kind of scenario.
I wish him well and that he is able to recover!
I am so sorry to hear that.
I’m in a bit of the same boat; my Dad fell a couple of days ago because he was confused (has suffered brain trauma in the past and was in an assisted living facility); has a UTI and the bacteria has seeped into his brain. I called and talked to him tonight, but he didn’t sound good.
He’ll turn 80 in February. I’d hoped to bring them all out for his birthday. I delayed Thanksgiving/Christmas flight reservations because of the stupid ebola scare!!! (ridiculous!!!)
It will cost hundreds of dollars for me to go right away; to bring the entire family will be thousands (we all live in Canada; he, my sister and her family live in WI). It is always a judgment call.
Prayers to all Freepers and lurkers :) and readers everywhere who have family near and far, who are sick. In these times, we all have moved away, here and there...
I’ll pray you get to talk to your uncle again, OILineRebel. All the best to you and yours.
We can only hope and pray for the best.
Prayers up for all!
