Georgia Virgili was one of the hundreds of thousands in the Bay Area who lost most of the conveniences of modern life.
I didnt have power, Virgili said. I couldnt get my car out of the garage, I have no food, I have no cash, so Im trying to forage for something. (CBS)

Amen.
they know if it bleeds it leads....and hey must have gotten great ratings during the last flood....
last winter they has a van over here to video the creek long befire there was enugh rain to do much but turn it muddy brown.
the Bay Area is a really a sick place sad to say.
Looks like Chicken Little is vindicated after all.
It rained for a couple days, localized flooding, minor inconvenience, I had to put on a rain jacket. Never lost Power. It was a nice rain storm and we need the H2O.
There’s a lot of factoring but I figure you’ll need about a half dozen rounds for every day of survival or 1500 per year in a shtf scenario. Between hunting, defending, duds, etc. You’ll use them up faster than you think.
The good news is if well prepared, you’ll get more ammo and weapons from the less prepared who think they are tough enough to attack you.
I have a house full of kids. There will be no E and E.
My point is that if the zombies are armed, and I get into a firefight with 5 or 50, I would be lucky to still be alive after firing 100 rounds. So.... Don’t let yourself ever get in a firefight if you can avoid it.
Point is... Sure more is better, just don’t expect to be alive if you’ve had to fire 100 rounds to avoid being dead. Better to have avoided that situation altogether.
I’m no longer surprised at the level of stupidity in this country...
May never need, but plans are good to think up before the need.
In the country, you'll have time as you watch the city burns.
Regardless, stay safe.
Now, regards this storm. About friggin' time.
I go to fish at the lake(s) and the place I usually set up is abut two hundred feet away from the water. The fish wanna get caught so as to get into a bucket of water and breathe!
I’d be concerned about no heat or water in the house, that could be life-threatening in cold temps.
True, but not knowing how to manually open the garage door? C’mon, that’s just some level of stupid I can’t fathom.
We’re in the high desert of SoCal...have been watching for flash flooding all day...
But in my 24+ years as a Scout leader and 20 years of military service, I’ve amassed a good amount of emer. prep gear and stores...we’re ready.
Country dweller, but I expect the city folk to be at my door within a few days after a SHTF frightmare.
I’m a Texan working in the Bay Area. In an extended stay hotel I have can goods, dry bean, rice and a propane cooker. Several flash lights with spare batteries. I keep gallons of bottled water. Ice chest and frozen bottles of water.
I mouth plus of non-refrigerated food and method of cooking. Lighting and other basics are just how I grew up...
No,..it just means you should be firing a larger caliber round,....like 60 or 81mm area weapons for proper effect. <;^)
There are numerous sources for info regards perimeter defense in force, using the neighborhood resources.
Vultures like easy pickings. It will need to get real bad before they risk death to get what you got.
Get to know your neighbors, which ones you can trust, literally, with your life.
George, ask Mommy for a cup of cocoa.
For crying out loud...a wee bit of rain and he's pissing his pants. George, pull down the red handle on your garage door opener, push up the door, and drive out. I cannot believe you let yourself be quoted like that.
It’s a tight little town. We don’t lock our doors, keys are in the car if you need it. But if you’re a stranger? Better just assume you have eyes on you when you turn the corner.
By the time trouble rolls into your town, there may not be any safe places to relocate to anyway.
So, might as well make the town "the safe place".
Any good fishing nearby? Lol
