That was my thought, too. Why not just back up and then make a U-turn? That was the easy way out of that mess.
There are also people in yellow safety vests attempting some kind of traffic control - can’t tell if they are police officers or this is an organized crowd with its own traffic marshals. Some yellow vests look they are standing back or even applauding rather than taking action.
The driver knocked down a yellow vest the second time he started up. If that was a police officer, he’s in deeper trouble.
He has every right to drive where he did.

Why are the protestors being allowed to take over the streets? Why are there no arrests being made, so as to clear the way for drivers? It seems the protestors have the right of way, and the drivers are at risk. Why not clear the streets, so drivers don’t have to fear for their lives & their family’s wellbeing?
Commies need to be taught a lesson. The driver is a true Patriot for schooling them and he was perfectly justified. His only fault was going too slow. I would have slammed on the accelerator and really gunned it to take out a lot of those commies.
The driver has been charged and is being held on $150,000 bail. So everyone who has been critical of her can take a deep breath. [The story claims it was a vendetta. I have no idea. I just don’t think the streets should be ceded to the protestors, period.]
After that attack on Reginald Denny, “Football” Williams was convicted and sentenced to 10 years but got out after five for “good behavior”—and then committed a murder. He now sits in the state pen down in Calipatria.
Witnesses tell police Uzong and Horton had been fighting before the incident. Witnesses say Uzong drove through a parking lot and swerved to intentionally hit Horton.
Looks like a different incident to me. Wasn't a parking lot, no swerve visible, and you couldn't pick out a particular target in that crowd if you were aiming for her.
Also, your incident happened Saturday.
Sorry, but that clip clearly shows the driver trying to force his way through the crowd that was already there not a crowd that just surrounded and attacked his car...
Never heard of this adam guy, but he’s clearly just as bad as the dregs setting fires.

Easy to see they should have turned left.. From the roof of a 10 story building. Once the mistake was made, does the poor driver have to go ahead and get beaten to death to atone for it?
