Jackie Kennedy believed Lyndon Johnson killed JFK

It has been widely reported that Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, widow of President John F. Kennedy, shared with family members she was certain that Kennedy’s Vice President Lyndon Baines Johnson, arranged to have her husband murdered.

Soon that conclusion will be heard in the late First Lady’s own words, because audio tapes, recorded of discussions with historian and close family associate, Arthur Schlesinger Jr., between March and June 1964, will be released and excerpts featured on an upcoming ABC News program in November marking the 50th anniversary of President John F. Kennedy’s assassination in Dallas.

The tapes, which insiders describe as featuring Ms. Kennedy’s disclosures of J.F.K.’s affairs and her romantic liaisons in retaliation, also reportedly reveal her conviction that L.B.J., with a cabal of associates and Texas businessmen, orchestrated the plot culminating in the Kennedy assassination. This is in contrast to the account of these interviews in Barbara Leaming’s biography of Ms.Kennedy, “The Winter of Her Despair”.

The establishment theory of the Kennedy assassination, arguably the most controversial event in American history, is dubbed the “lone gunman”. It is the conclusion of the Warren Report, commissioned by newly sworn in Lyndon Johnson and chaired by then Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Earl Warren.

It concludes that Kennedy was shot by Lee Harvey Oswald, a disturbed ex-Marine who had exhibited erratic actions and behavior and that Oswald shot the President from the 6th floor of the Dallas Book Depository building....

I think Jackie was having a long time affair with Oswald and wanted him gone.

Well, that’s what I heard and that’s good enough for me.

Oh yes... and that’s exactly how Big Labor figured it.

Got’ta think twice about getting in bed with those guys. But Old Joe took a chance and paid for his decision... rather, his sons paid.

I read that LBJ was insisting that Yarborough be in Kennedy’s car, not Connally.

The media mythologized her and never told us she was a nut case, so many would never think that of her, but when you look directly at her and we do know about her thinking in her life, she was just about the flakiest, low quality woman to ever be married to a president.

Flakiest? Yeah, maybe.

Low(est) quality woman...? Uh, have you watched TV at all for the last 5 years, 9 months and 2 days? Get back to me when you watch the wookie in action.

Looks like this is a repurposed article from a year ago. We were promised these tapes last year, but they never materialized.

LBJ - complete dirt bag but had nothing to do with this crime.

My No 1 on the list is still the Mafia.

Rogue elements within the CIA, quite possible.

Castro and the Russians, pretty unlikely. First, Castro was an obedient lap dog that did not do anything without the Russian’s permission. The Russians were actually a lot smarter and a lot more aware of our political system then people thought. They knew Kennedy’s position on civil rights was creating strong headwinds. They also knew that Joe wasn’t in a position to buy the election as he did in 1960. Killing Kennedy really made sure his policies would continue, and they knew that.

There is also an outside, but I believe less and less likely possibility - Oswald actually did it. He was crazy enough, and really only needed to get off one lucky shot.

Me too!

No one had more to gain from JFK's death than LBJ.

Yarborough was scheduled to be in the car with JFK, but JFK himself insisted that he should ride with the state’s governor rather than the senator.

I didn’t make a precise ranking of first ladies, and some would argue that under that soft surface was a cheap tramp in the promiscuous and later practically a courtesan, Jackie.

I dont believe in these kennedy conspiracy theories, but the “mafia” angle is the most logical.

JFKs daddy enlisted the help of his old mafia buddies to get them to get his son elected president. The mafia went along with it, thinking that theyd have the president in their pocket. Kennedy got elected and promptly double crossed the mafia, turning loose brother bobby on them.

Normally the mob doesnt touch public elected officials or cops or judges because they knew it was the fastest way to bring the wrath of the public and worse, the whole government, down on their heads. But there are times when they make such exceptions.

LBJ was far more corrupt than Kennedy. And he hated the Kennedys. JFK treated brother bobby more like the vice president. Its logical that the mob thought of going after brother bobby, but that would bring that wrath they didnt want. By taking out JFK, LBJ would take over, and that would neuter bobby a bit.

They were taking a serious gamble with taking out the president, but apparently taking the precautionary steps to arrange for a cover up and a patsy.

It also makes sense why jack ruby, a seriously mob connected nightclub owner, would take out oswald before oswalds whole involvement could be ascertained. I cant see jack ruby giving a damn about the president or oswald. Chances are that he was ordered to kill off oswald in order to keep people from knowing what oswalds part was in this whole thing.

I know many people who were young adults when Kennedy was shot that have always believed this. It is likely the truth.

It should have been written:

The story I heard was that Jackie climbed onto the back of the limo in order to retrieve a portion of her husband’s skull. I have no idea if this version of events is true or not.
