Has the time finally come that practical rather than political experience, a larger than life persona and sanguinary vision of both sworn enemies and fair weather friends should define the suitability for office of the next American president? Our elected representatives are charged with defense of the Constitution of the United States and the faithful execution of their office. But for decades the republic has suffered through an epidemic of irreconcilable political, economic, social, and media agendas which have transformed the US from a nation of prosperity into one of decay. We are becoming what our Founders feared most as a nation of laws degenerates into one of corrupt, agenda driven men.
Consider these two analogous librettos. In one recent drama, two Republican US Representatives finally were allowed to tour the holding pens of Central American children being used as pawns in Obamas high stakes power play to fundamentally transform America, now imminently upon us. Rep. Randy Neugebauer (R-TX) meekly told a Fox News audience: I wasnt allowed to take pictures! DHS deigned to let him peek into the illegal alien petri dish of infectious diseases now being transported all over our land.
Another US Rep., Jim Bridenstine (R-OK), a Navy PILOT, who was initially told by a federal alphabet entity that hed have to wait three weeks to tour Fort Sill in his OWN DISTRICT, was permitted to do a walk about, but with the same news blackout caveat. Governor Rick Perry, looking very chic in a uniform from the wardrobe department of the governors mansion, did a boat patrol photo op up and down the Rio Grande. But he appeared unable to stop President Obama from messing with TX.
In a second libretto, the text featured Donald Trump showing the same sort of compassion that...

Somehow, the majority of sheep in this country have been fooled into thinking Hillary is that “patriot and leader.”
Compared to this guy, she’s Sam Adams.
First and foremost whoever it is must be honorable and not self serving but a true America First practitioner. Somewhere out there in the mass of 300 plus million there must be someone that fulfills that qualification.
No. He loves nothing, including America, anywhere near as much as he loves himself.
Please tell me he's kidding.
No.
There are probably several people who would do a great job, the problem is most of them probably don’t want to put themselves through the crushing process to get there...
Draft Jeff Sessions.
A lot of people have compared Obama to Carter. These days, of course, people are saying Obama is even worse than Carter—a position the evidence overwhelmingly supports.
Now who was the POTUS that followed Carter? Served 2 terms iirc.
Yes, it’s a different America now than then. But doofi bumblers/and-or anti-American psychopaths like Carter & Obama have a way of ushering in their mirror opposites regardless. I believe it will happen in ‘16. I won’t argue about it right now, but time will tell.
“Compared to this guy, shes Sam Adams” brewmaster.
No more America-haters. That includes hillary, eliz warren and john kerry.
Pendulum politics. Look for a Reagan.
I don’t care if this article tells me the sun is shining. I won’t believe it. Donald Trump? Seriously?
The premise of the article, the question asked, is great. The article itself is ridiculous.
Donald Trump? Thanks for the chuckle.
The only politician that *might* be suitable is Ted Cruz. The rest don’t impress me; in fact, they depress me.
D’oh!
Right. One of us. A good guy. Like Reagan.
When Reagan was elected I thought, "There's gotta be thousands of regular guys like him. Why can't we just get a bunch of these guys elected? Shouldn't be that hard."
Well, 30 years later, obviously it's harder than it looks apparently. There was more to Reagan than met the eye. I think one of the rare distinguishing characteristics about Reagan was reflected in a plaque on his Oval Office desk that read, "There is no limit to what a man can do or where he can go if he doesn't mind who get's the credit." An anti-political statement if I've ever seen one (quote may have originally come from Harry Truman).
Reagan was unique because he never sought political office, the office sought him. He was, therefore, well suited to doing what was right because he was not made of the fabric of political expediency or political self-perpetuation.
These are birds of a difference feather who are very hard to find these days. Not only patriots and leaders, but selfless, putting America and the American People ahead of their own political ambition. Rare indeed. We need one of those rare birds right now. If there is to be such a one arriving on the scene, God will provide him and He did Reagan.
Are there still enough Americans left who recognize a patriot and leader and who are willing to vote for him?
Do we even have an American who embodies a combination of patriotism and leadership?
Our pride is in our diveeeeersity and unity seems to have become something of no concern to the masses.
I absolutely believe the pendulum will swing the opposite well—thanks for phrasing it so succinctly. & yes, though there was only one Reagan, I believe Obama’s disastrous 8 years will usher in the closest thing we have seen to an equivalent since ‘89.
If our liberty depends on the outcome a single election, it is admission our republic is gone.
