I’m Jewish, and I disagree with the Muslim bashing that’s been going on
I’m Jewish by birth, agnostic by choice, and I have a strong interest in Jediism and Greek Mythology.
President Obama recently referred to
“… the many achievements and contributions of Muslim Americans to building the very fabric of our nation…”
Well, message boards and article comment sections all over the internet are flying with all sorts of criticism of Obama’s claim. Sadly, many of these people are claiming that Muslims have contributed nothing whatsoever to this great country of ours.
But the fact is that Obama does have a valid point.
The Sears Tower, which was the tallest building in the world for 25 years, was designed by a Muslim guy named Fazlur Khan. Khan was known as the “father of tubular designs for high-rises.” The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat named its lifetime achievement award, the Fazlur Khan Lifetime Achievement Medal, after him.
Ayub Khan Ommaya was a neurosurgeon who invented the Ommaya reservoir, which delivers chemotherapy directly to brain tumors. He was Muslim.
People should be judged as individuals. There are good and evil people in all religions. Some of the professional people that you come across in your day to day life are probably Muslim, and you don’t even know it. Doctors. Lawyers. Bankers. Teachers. Scientists. Entrepreneurs. Muslims are well represented in all of these professions.
Bash Obama all you want. I certainly do. But I bash him as an individual. Bash any individual all you want. But please don’t bash an entire religious population because some of its members are evil.
In July 2010, Charles Bolden, the administrator of NASA, said that Obama had told him that the primary purpose of NASA was to reach out to the Muslim world. If Obama really did say that, then he was wrong. The real purpose of NASA is to teach all of humanity about the universe in which we live. So that would be a good reason to bash Obama, if he really did say it.
In September 2012, after four U.S. citizens were killed in a terrorist attack in Benghazi, Libya, the Obama administration falsely said that the attack was a spontaneous protest against an anti-Muslim video at YouTube. That’s certainly a reason to bash Obama.
In September 2012, the Obama administration phoned YouTube to complain about an anti-Muslim video. That’s certainly a reason to bash Obama. Ben Wizner of the ACLU said that of this, It does make us nervous when the government throws its weight behind any requests for censorship. Eva Galperin of the Electronic Frontier Foundation said of this, I am actually kind of distressed by this
Even though there are all these great quotes from inside the White House saying they support free speech
.by calling YouTube from the White House, they were sending a message no matter how much they say we dont want them to take it down, when the White House calls and asks you to review it, it sends a message and has a certain chilling effect.
In June 2013, Rasmussen conducted a poll to find out what people considered to be the nations top terror threat. Reporting on the results of the poll, Rasmussen wrote: Among those who strongly approve of the president, more fear the Tea Party than radical Muslims. That’s a good reason to bash people who strongly approve of Obama. And it’s a good reason to bash the terrorists who happened to be Muslim. But it’s not a good reason to bash all Muslims, or to claim that they have contributed nothing whatsoever to the building of this country.
I’ll close with this statistic that may surprise a lot of people: in the 2000 U.S. Presidential election, nearly 80% of Muslims voted for Bush.

My opinion can be summed up with a quote from Pat Condell:
"Why am I anti-Islam? Well, for the simple reason that Islam is anti-me and its anti every fundamental value I hold. If I were to accommodate its values in my life, I would have to violate everything that I believe in. I think thats an unreasonable demand and, as such, it is, of course, typically Islamic.
In general, I dont like to be anti anything. I prefer to be pro. But theres nothing in Islam to be pro about. The entire religion is built on a foundation of prejudice, injustice and inhumanity: and Im anti all of those. People say: Well, you only focus on the bad things about Islam. And yes, I have to admit that if you ignore the bad things the aggressive separatism, supremacism and social intolerance; the relentless special pleading and phony grievance mongering; the psychopathic level of misogyny; the honor killing and genital mutilation (sanctioned by the prophet, incidentally); the rabid gay and Jew hatred; the intimidation and censorship and the constantly present threat of violence over social issues well then there isnt much wrong with Islam. Its perfectly kosher, if youll pardon the expression. The trouble is, when you take these things away, theres nothing left. There is no Islam any more because it is defined by these things and we can see the evidence of this with our own eyes. We can see that, wherever this religion goes in the world, it brings with it guaranteed intolerance, conflict and social division and, if it gets the upper hand, persecution and, ultimately, monstrous cruelty and people always become less free, especially the female ones.
Because I hold these opinions, Im often falsely accused of hating Muslims when, in fact, -snip- I just dont like anything about their religion because theres nothing about it to like. Its an absolutely outrageous ideology. If you made it up from scratch today, youd be locked up for your own good. It brings out the very worst in humanity and it gives power and authority to violent, sadistic, savages. It has brought nothing positive to the West for the simple reason that it has nothing positive to bring. Its influence on this Earth has been overwhelmingly negative and we would all be better off without it including Muslims, especially the female ones.
Any ideology that preaches death to anyone deserves no accommodation at all in a civilized society and no respect at all. It doesnt even deserve the pretense of respect. Death to apostates, death to blasphemers, death to adulterers, death to homosexuals. Death, death, mutilation and death as preached in the mosques, for it is written.
And this is the problem. It is written. Any religious scripture can be a dangerous weapon in the wrong hands -snip- and Islamic scripture is particularly dangerous because its particularly inflammatory and violent. Hatred of non-Muslims runs through it like a watermark. Read it for yourself and see. Anyone choosing to follow this scripture can take explicit license to be intolerant and violent and to feel virtuous about it. And it really doesnt help that so many Muslims on this Earth take their scripture far more seriously than any sane person should. In some parts of the world, if you so much as look at the Quran the wrong way, youre liable to be lynched on the spot (hello again, Pakistan). The idea, that this is just another religion and that all religions are equally bad, is not only laughable its actually offensive and its insulting to the many victims of Islam . . . and I dont mean historically but, here and now.
Right now on this Earth people are being persecuted and murdered every day by Muslims and heres the important bit . . . for purely religious reasons. That is pure evil. And where do you think it comes from? Do not be friends with unbelievers; The vilest of animals are unbelievers; Kill unbelievers wherever you find them; and on and on and on it goes. Yet anyone who finds any of this offensive, well, apparently they have a phobia. Thats right: theyve got something wrong with them.
So yes, Im very much anti-Islam, as you can see, in so many ways (I really havent got time to list them all here) but Im especially anti child marriage. Are you anti child marriage? Of course you are. I wish Islam was anti child marriage but it isnt, so Im anti-Islam and Ive been given no choice in the matter because child marriage is inexcusable.
And while were on the subject, putting an Islamic headscarf on a little girl is also inexcusable. In doing so, you sexualize that child because the headscarf is all about men and rape. Youre telling her that female hair drives Muslim men insane. It doesnt bother other men, curiously, just the Muslim ones. And since Muslim men must never be held to account for anything they do to a woman or to a girl (because Allah wouldnt like it), if they see her hair, they might rape her and, if they do, it will be her fault. Thats what the headscarf is really all about. Putting one on a child is an act of sexual and mental abuse and it ought to be against the law."

The Jews are NOT promoting brain washing children in military training camps, teaching them how to blow themselves up and cause maximum deaths of Jews and other non Muslims!
The Jews dont hijack planes, nor kill athletes at the Olympics, or blow themselves upin German restaurants. There is NOT one single Jew that has destroyed a church. There is NOT a single Jew that protests by killing people.
The Jews dont traffic slaves, nor have leaders calling for Jihad and death to all the Infidels.
Perhaps the worlds Muslims should consider investing more in standard education and less in blaming the Jews for all their problems.
Muslims must ask what can they do for humankind before they demand that humankind respects them!!
Regardless of your feelings about the crisis between Israel and the Palestinians and Arab neighbors, even if you believe there is more culpability on Israel s part, the following two sentences really say it all:
If the Arabs put down their weapons today, there would be no more violence. If the Jews put down their weapons today, there would be no more Israel -Benjamin Netanyahu

But all of those advancements he mentions in the article... years and years and years after the formation of the United States and the Constitution-—AND would not have been possible without the ingenuity of American capitalism and advancements. They just worked off of what was already created.
But Obama makes it sound like there’s a muslim name scratched down there under the Bill of Rights.

Your post is hilarious!
The only point I’d disagree with is that your fantasy guy would try to bargain his way out of being beheaded. I always remember the reporter who got horribly beaten during the Brooklyn pogram of the 1990s who later wrote that he deserved to be beaten because, as a white man, he shouldn’t have been in a black neighborhood. So your guy would probably have said: Go ahead! Hack my head off!

Another idiot who doesn't understand Islam at all. There may very well be "peaceful" Muslims and I believe there are. However, they are not Muslims anymore than a pro-choice abortion supporting Catholic is a Catholic. They are not.
Islam, by its CORE TENETS, cannot allow and will not allow followers of other religions equality. Not religious equality - but equality - life, liberty, pursuit of happiness, the right to exist, etc.
It is the ONLY religion in the world that has that requirement. ISIS isn't an "extreme" part of Islam - it IS Islam. What is happening in Mosul and the rest of the Arab world isn't a "small extreme" part of Islam - it is the manifestation and full realization of Islam!!
I'm tired of everyone trying to make excuses for followers of a religion and acting like they have somehow bastardized the true religion. NO THEY HAVE NOT! This IS TRUE ISLAM! It's also why Pope Urban II initiated the Crusades - to stop Islamists from continuing to massacre and take ownership of Christians.

Intellectually lazy.
Agnostic by choice - which is to say, I choose to be confused. I understand and respect a person who is actively pursuing truth, but has not yet recognized a trend or reached a conclusion. This person seems to take pride in his lack of clarity, with no apparent desire to find answers.
I suspect the truth is “atheist by choice”, which is more meaningful, but it is completely consistent that a person who does not recognize the moral deficiencies of Islam, would be hesitant to acknowledge his own choice to disbelieve.
One final note - Islam has some huge moral gaps, but honesty must acknowledge some points of moral clarity. However, the moral voids obscure the clarity (paradoxical statement, that) in the larger picture - making the good nothing more than window dressing for public display.
