Do American lefties really need someone to connect the dots for them?

The true Leftist--and the writer certainly appears to be one--is not driven by reason, but by hatred of reality. That hatred runs through all their projects, policies & rhetoric--although at election time, they have become reasonably skilled at masking it in euphemistic language.

While slavery--whether those held in servitude were called "slaves, bondsmen, serfs," or whatever, is truly common to some extensive period in almost every nation's history: there certainly were unique aspects of the application of the system in each land. One of the things that stands out in America, was that the system was considerably modified by Christian values, with the result being that it was very common for the newly freedmen in the post war generation that followed emancipation, to continue to identify with the families of the former masters. (This was more true, here, than in post feudal Europe, at least on the continent.)

For a powerful witness to the point, see Booker T. Washington's classic address at the Atlanta Exposition, in 1895.

Of course, the hate-driven writer of the article above, would never even conceive of people allied in common purpose & friendship across class & racial lines in the America he despises.

I really like how the black man “gave permission to the followers to criticize Obama without the accusation of racism”,

firmly admitting that the left uses accusations of racism to silence any criticism of Obama.

There is an article on a companion thread which describes the negative influence of Valerie Jarrett on the President of the United States and many FReepers have offered up their theories as to why she should have such power over Obama. I tend to think of it as not so much a power that Jarrett enjoys over Obama but a common worldview they mutually possess and mutually reinforce.

Obama is very articulate and he's very clever, as most narcissists are, and he is smart enough and wary enough not to betray himself often but I think he shares everyone of the preposterous notions outlined in this article but he is too clever and too articulate to be caught out often.

I have a completely different take on this thought.

I do believe that Obama shares a common worldview, and is articulate in front of a crowd when he has a teleprompter to read from. He's a stammering idiot without one, though.

For a more relevant, though fictional, comparison, I'd say that Valerie Jarrett is more like Angela Lansbury's Mrs. Iselin and Obama is more like James Gregory's Senator Iselin from the original movie The Manchurian Candidate.

Jarrett is clearly handling Obama, and sending him out day after day with a very scripted and pointed message for the day. The daily message is crafted to conflict with prior messages so as to get the media to focus on the changing side-story and not about what is really going on. In other words, creating a distraction from the real agenda.

In my view, Obama is a puppet, saying and doing what he's told to say and do. When he strays, just as Iselin strayed, he gets flustered and runs back for help. Obama is not the clever, articulate, and smart person that Jarrett has presented him to be. From the other article, Jarrett NEVER leaves his side. She eats with him in the residence, she travels with him on vacations, she's the only non-family who calls him by his first name. She is the brains behind the outfit, and Obama is just the straight man.

What a bunch of racist BS.

Sure. The black reverend hanging around in the lobby was just some Uncle Tom coon, right Chauncey?
There’s no way a black man could possibly agree with all those white troglodytes.
Every thing this guy says, everything he notices, everything he writes is written from the racist side of the fence.
“You n-s get back on my side!” he might as well say.

Doesn’t seem to me like he learned a damn thing.
He went in with a preconceived notion and came out with it firmly intact.

Lots of foolishness here but the notion that the ‘United States practiced slavery for centuries’ stands out as the practice was outlawed before the nations centennial.

That particular comment for some reason annoyed me more than others.

Yeah, but this rant embodies the beliefs of close to a quarter of our population and over a third of under thirties types.

-— As I learned earlier this week, their warped logic and skewed perception of social and political reality is extremely dangerous and can/will lead to more incidents of Right-wing domestic violence, because how else would a reasonable person deal with a government that is led by “traitors” and under the control of Satan? -—

Mmmm-Kay.

He writes like his balls are in a vice

If he indeed has balls he is a step ahead of Obama.
