Yes, I don’t know why - he’s always been located close to family activity and is well cared for.
My mother had a little toy poodle mix that was like that.
Spent a lot of time with my dad before he died...she kept that dog for years afterwards until it died. Probably about as best trained personal companion as you could have.
But in the end, the temperament and makeup of any dog is luck of the draw. They’re why people take a chance on strange dogs.
A couple that are my boat neighbors have 2 rescued Schnauzers. Neediest dogs I have ever seen. They can’t be left alone for 30 seconds without starting to howl like they are dieing. The couple actually did it to them by treating them like children.
Recently they had to go to emergency room and called and asked if I would pick up the dogs. I did. Walked them and took them back to the boat and left them. Every time they would start howling I would go over and scold them. Eventually they quieted down for good.
When the couple got back I said....you know these dogs are worse than babies. At least babies can be left alone while sleeping.
I wouldn’t have a dog that couldn’t be left alone. We leave ours home all the time and she sleeps until she hears the beep from the alarm being turned off and meets us at the back door.
My daughter has a magnificently beautiful mocha and chocolate purebred Doberman that I’m trying to get her to give me so she can concentrate on Bowser all the time.
Kingston, the Dobie is absolutely stunning as one would expect and he likes me. I even made him a spike/leather collar using Latigo leather and silver buckle that complements his coat quite nicely.
Brought him home one weekend while they were off somewhere. He was apprehensive about jumping up to the truck seat, but after we got going, he just sat there beside me straight up watching everything like he was born to it. He liked it.
Only problem is my oldest grand daughter doesn’t want to give him up because he sleeps with her at night.
I’ve been told parrots really want and need the company of ofther parrots,,,, but what do I know . . .
No, they think they are human.
Love all animals. Beautiful little thng..but I thik I’ll stick to cats. Couldn’t stand the noise.
