Bill Maher Illustrates the Make-Believe World of Liberals!

This past weekend on his HBO show, host Bill Maher suggested that conservatives were fine with the federal government until five years ago after Barack Obama was elected to the presidency. The headline of a video clip on the Real Clear Politics website of Maher's statements stated, "Why Were Conservatives Okay With Government Up Until Five Years Ago?"

While Maher never actually posed that question verbatim, some of his other statements and questions lead to the summary contained in the headline. The video clip can be found here. For those who cannot handle the video, here are a couple of samples of Maher's commentary from the segment:

"Why was everything okay until five years ago? I hate to make everything racial, but what happened like five years ago? Who got elected around then that seems to have changed everything?"

-----

"Somehow just five years ago, everything was going great until then, until Obama got elected, and then suddenly we have to overthrow the government."

First of all, at least Maher admits that he makes everything racial...

Did Bill Maher ever stop calling himself a libertarian and start identifying as a liberal progressive commie?

To turn Maher’s “5 years ago” comment on its head, why is the partisan media and antiwar left now silent on the wars we are still engaged in and the fact that Gitmo remains open?

Bush was “Big Brother” but the expanded wire tapping is now “situation normal”.

Obama said that Bush was unpatriotic for raising the national debt, then eclipsed that figure by far while calling out those who would oppose raising the ceiling.

Was the IRS investigating private individuals and conservative organizations five years ago? Was the NSA actively spying on Americans rather than terrorists five years ago? Was the country $17 trillion dollars in debt five years ago? Were 90 million people out of the workforce five years ago? Was the world in total and utter chaos five years ago? Wake up dumbass...

Everything was not fine five years ago. The TEA party formed during the Bush administration. The big drive against the government these last five years is due to its wreckless spending and vote buying. The Dems are best at doing this, but the GOP does it too.

Obama is a particularly bad president because at a time when we really needed to tighten up the budget and get serious about entitelemnt and tax reform, he added Obamacare and calls ‘reformers’ racists. It’s like back in college when it was really time to get serious studying and instead of inviting over our serious friend, we’ve invited the party dude with the case of beer. That’s really the issue Bill...in spite of your snark. We are not a country run by a serious person

P.S. Maher has a strange face. He comes across as smarmy and creepy. I’m not sure what to make of that guy....nevermind his politics.

The fact is that we conservatives have had many problems with the government, but we mostly sat around on front porches and backroom halls, and mumbled amongst ourselves about the issues.

But, five years ago, we conservatives saw a truly, Communist candidate rise to the Presidency! And it was THIS reason that most conservatives finally got off their butts, stopped mumbling and started screaming! It wouldn’t have mattered if that candidate was black, white, red, yellow, orange, or pink polka-dotted: we conservatives finally decided that enough was enough and we started pushing back against the Progressives!

Why go back that far? Fiscal Conservatives dislike George W Bush’s policies, and the Republican Congress’s policies during his time, because they were all Big Government politicians.

Well Bill, we complained plenty about W.D.C. and its creeping over reach, long before 5 years ago.

The problem now, is that you have fascists running things and using those agencies against the American people and targeting Conservatives.

Obama’s goal to “Fundamentally Transform America”, means the DESTRUCTION of America.

THAT is what we object to Bill.
See my tagline.

I’ve been pissed off at the government since Sammy Weaver was shot in the back by feds and Lon Horiuchi murdered Vicki Weaver and all those who murdered under the color of government are still free men with pensions.

That was done on George H. W. Bush’s watch.

Correction:

I’ve been pissed off at the government ever since they tried to pin the USS Iowa explosion on Clayton Hartwig without a shred of evidence.

Again, Bush 41’s watch.

Not to mention the daily howling about escalating gas prices and how Bush’s Big Oil buddies were raping - and thereby KILLING - the middle class. Now that gas is three times the cost at the pump than it was under Bush, we hear nothing.

Great comments on this thread, but what good are they doing? None. It's nothing but preaching to the choir, and that choir is nodding off. Without conservative pop culture outlets, no one outside FReep hears what we have to say. Generation.com, set to start taking control of this nation in another 10-15 years, is still influenced by the likes of Bill Maher, Pink and Katy Perry.

"But, but, but...the Leftists control Hollyweird," you whine. "They own all the movie production houses, the record labels, the cable networks, the sports teams, and so on. They have a strangle hold on pop culture!" You're right. Maybe it's time we stop whining about the sorry state of affairs and actually do something about it. Maybe it's time we create hedge funds to buy control of pop culture outlets, so we can have the say on which movies and TV shows get green lighted. Maybe it's time we pool our money and buy control of Time Warner, Comcast, Cable One, etc. Maybe it's time we buy control of the record labels, so we could decide which bands and musicians get signed and promoted.

Or we could continue to preach to the choir on FReep, whining and crying to ourselves only, whistling past the graveyard of our Republic, on our way to the ash heap of history.

Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!

Have you ever noticed that whenever something is posted from
the Examiner blog, it is invariably some pimp promoting his
own material?

"Why was everything okay until five years ago?..."

Typical Maher. He starts off his tirades with a false premise. Accusing Conservatives of something they are not or have not done.
"All those rich, fat, white Republicans."

Things were NOT ok before Obama stole his first election.

Bush was more of an adult and had pride in this nation but he was a New World Order, liberal crackpot under the skin. Got Patriot Act? The list is long.

"Things" haven't been good since Eisenhower was president.
