Did V. Stiviano commit a crime when recording Donald Sterling?(California Recording Law)

This sure appears to say that the bimbo V. Stiviano by recording Sterling committed a crime:

California's wiretapping law is a “two-party consent” law. California makes it a crime to record or eavesdrop on any confidential communication, including a private conversation or telephone call, without the consent of all parties to the conversation. See Cal. Penal Code § 632. The statute applies to “confidential communications” — i.e., conversations in which one of the parties has an objectively reasonable expectation that no one is listening in or overhearing the conversation. See Flanagan v. Flanagan, 41 P.3d 575, 576-77, 578-82 (Cal. 2002). A California appellate court has ruled that this statute applies to the use of hidden video cameras to record conversations as well. See California v. Gibbons, 215 Cal. App. 3d 1204 (Cal Ct. App. 1989). “
California Recording Law

Only one of them broke the law but the MSM doesn't care about that.

Yes, it could get interesting. That said, if Sterling does the smart thing (though it would be out of character for him) he will gladly submit to a multi-million dollar fine and a 1 year suspension.

In my opinion, Sterling is much better off if the public believe the NBA punished him severely. If he gets off easy, it is much more likely that players, coaches, fans and sponsors will boycott the Clippers next season and will cause the value of his franchise to drop by hundreds of millions of dollars.

If he takes a fairly harsh punishment “gracefully” and make a “sincere, heartfelt” apology and a few big donations to minority causes, there is a much better chance that this will mostly blow over by next year.

Listening to Rush...he had a fascinating caller Neal from Dallas...who said “who wants to buy the team? Follow the money!” And shazam...yahoo news has a piece up now saying the Guggenheimer Group, fronted by Magic Johnson (who is linked to the V Chic also—remember, Sterling didn’t want HER photographed w/MJ) WANTS TO BUY the Clippers.

Wow...quite the web.

Well then his acknowledgement and acceptance should be at the beginning of the recording, let’s hear it.

Mr. Sterling should have realized that the sycophants gathered around him are only there for the money and may well absolutely detest him. You couldn’t get me to shine his shoes.

she may find herself in legal trouble

What about all of the media outlets that played parts of them? What about the NBA fining and suspending Serling based on probably illegal tapes? And why is this crazy world we live in more outraged about a senile old man saying things out of another generation than that he's married and supporting a sleazy mistress?

Whatever happened to "actions speak louder than words"? The NAACP withdrew an award to be given in honor of things he did because of things he said in the privacy of his own home.

Everybody needs a "time out". This is more outrage than when it was discovered there was an alleged murderer on the Patriots roster.

While I don't believe it either, her attorney did say that unreleased portions of the tape made it clear that Sterling knew he was being recorded. My initial response to this was curiosity that there were parts of the tape which were not released. Selective editing?

With only one person knowing about the taping, it’s really easy to “edit” by the questions asked by the taper to the tapee. (if i even know what i mean, but my ex husband tried that garbage with the “taping” and selective editing by questions asked (topics) and actual editing of the recording.

What does the “V” stand for?

Nothing. According to Fox, in 2010, she petitioned to have her name changed from Maria Vanessa Perez to V. Stiviano. Her stated reason in the court filing was, "Born from a rape case and having yet been fully accepted because of my race." She is of black and Mexican descent.

If I was a judge, I would rule they have to stay a couple. These two really seem like they deserve each other. I’m glad I don’t have to be around be like either one of them.

Surely Ms. V. will be indicted the way Linda Tripp was in the Monica/Clinton Caper. Oh, wait, that was different...

Sterling is disreputable, to be sure, independent of this matter, but she should not get by with illegal taping because of race issues being involved.

RE :”Surely Ms. V. will be indicted the way Linda Tripp was in the Monica/Clinton Caper. Oh, wait, that was different...”

AHHH, that was in the Ellicott City Maryland courthouse and Tripp lived a few miles from there in Columbia Maryland.
Maryland has the same basic law as CA and but Monica lived in DC which has no such law. In the end it was thrown out because Tripp was previously given immunity for the only evidence against her, the tapes, by Starr

I remember it well as I lived in that same general area of Maryland, I have been called for Jury duty by that same court in the past.

RE :”Sterling is disreputable, to be sure, independent of this matter, but she should not get by with illegal taping because of race issues being involved.”

I have a theory that Sterling may cover for her in that because he doesn't want her on the stand talking about it or talking to the media, because she has more dirt on him.

Finally last night I heard Megyn Kelly briefly discuss the CA recording law(Mark Levin didnt mention it when he went on about it last night) , but most of the discussion on the File was about the ethics of taping private conversations and using them.

If Stiviano was prosecuted and even copped a plea then it would be easy for Sterling to sue her for damages.

If she is let off the hook then I suspect Sterling.

She doesn't look worth it:

Neither does he.

Did V. Stiviano commit a crime when recording Donald Sterling?(California Recording Law)

Yes. And she was very rude as well.

Now will some starlette get caught drunk driving so they will have something else to talk about?

Yesterday there was nothing but yak about this guy on talk radio so I switched to music and sure enough the DJ wanted to talk about this guy between songs. ENOUGH!

This is not news. This is back fence gossip and it is boring gossip to boot.

This is the most pressing national issue of our time.
Nothing can be resolved till we figure out what happens to that Basket-ball team and to the bimbo, and to him.

Racism, freedom of speech, privacy, ???

Do we need to change the US constitution?
