While Homeland Security is reconsidering their position on deporting illegal criminals with trivial crimes, Marylands Governor OMalley has taken it one step further. He announced that the Baltimore City Detention Center will no longer comply with a federal policy that requires the jail to detain illegal immigrants for deportation.
OMalley said the Detention Center will now consider the severity of the charges a person is facing when reviewing I.C.E. requests to hold immigrants through the Secure Communities program. The federal program Secure Communities was intended to catch and deport dangerous criminals by coordinating with local jails.
We are a government of law and the Rule of Law is a system in which a society adopts or maintains a set of good, just, and fair laws by which it and its government will be governed. Why is the law not equally applied?
Political affiliation and how well connected you are to the regime in charge can have a direct bearing on whether youre prosecuted for breaking the law and how serious the penalty will be. (FYI: Governor OMalley was appointed to the Council of Governors by President Obama).
As Governor OMalley speaks of building a body of work that lays the framework of the candidacy for 2016, one can clearly surmise he will be nothing more than another Obama.
if they don’t adhere to federal law to keep illegals out (thereby flooding the country with new dem voters) because they don’t like the law...
then why should anyone else adhere to the tax law? we all hate those ‘laws’ as well
They’re NOT immigrants, they’re criminals, and O’Malley is a criminal himself for breaking federal law in regards to the freeing of illegal aliens instead of detaining them for deportation proceedings.
This commie jackass is violating “the law of the land.” He needs to be in prison.
if govt is going to ignore laws, every citizen can ignore the laws they dont like, too.
i say let’s dance, big brother.
He and Fauxcahontas are the Democrats’ fall-back candidates for 2016 if Hillary declines.
He should be personally sued (as well as the State) when the first released illegal harms someone.
Well of course. I mean, they all have to be out so they can vote for the rats, right? They wouldn't have it any other way. Do I need to add a sarcasm tag?
I think obeying the law has become optional.
What are silly things like laws, when they could stand in the way of a Democrat vote?
Martin O Malley is looking for a position in Washington after this term and has A++ ed his progressive credentials by re-shaping Maryland to something unrecognizable.
Freeing illegals fits right in the rest.
Single party rule with brainless drone voters.
Maybe VP, maybe some dept head or adviser. He is looking for something from Dems.
I know people who are no longer amused with the idea that the Left is simply stupid and must be forgiven their trespasses.
Just wow! The Comandante of the Peoples Republic of Maryland has ruled that some animals are more equal than other animals. We are in deep kimchi, and treated as less than serfs, pray.
The destruction of America by one Liberal Democrat at a time.
Just wow. Democrats running wild. This country is literally disintigrating before my eyes. Keep praying for this country.
they are going to have to learn the rule of law applies to them as well, and the people are going to teach them. we will restore the country with or without them.
Well, as soon as the first one of these illegals kills or maims someone, Martin O’Malley’s dream of being on the Democratic ticket in 2016 will be kaput. Hillary’s people will use it as a wooden stake to the heart of O’Malley’s dream.
Exactly. When the government chooses to not enforce laws the people have no obligation to obey them.
we can't have people just ignore the law!
