The "blood moons", or so they are called, are a set of eclipses taking place over the next year.
There have been several books written about them; even a DVD or two produced about them.
But, are they what we think they are? If not, is this a gigantic, prophetic, misunderstanding of astronomical proportions?

1. No one is "worshipping the moon" here AppyPappy. The moon, stars and sun are celestial time pieces set in motion by the Almighty and are indeed indicative of the time and seasons.
2. There are plenty of "latter day prophets", most don't know what they're talking about (i.e., false)
. 3. As for "no large rocks in space", tell that to the Russians (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ztrU90Ub4Uw).
God is not sitting around waiting on stars to align before He can do something. Take away the money and all this Blood Moon prophesy suddenly disappears. If God wants to tell us something, He gave us an entire book.
Shades of The Hale-Bopp Doomsday Cult.
He doesn't have to. It was all set in motion many millennial beforehand and will come to pass as prophesied. I don't know how that's possible, but we have proof that it is, from the other prophecies that have come to pass.
Isaiah 46:10 (NIV) "I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, 'My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.'"
If God wants to tell us something, He gave us an entire book.
Indeed he did. The problem is getting people to read it... :-)
If you don't believe in the Moon, you will be condemned to ShuckyDarn, where there is no ice cream whatsoever.
When was the last time a prophesy came to pass? 70AD?
1948 comes to mind
In the case of the OT prophesy regarding Israel, they could have been pointing to the creation of Israel during the time of Jesus. Even though the Romans were in charge, the Jews had returned to Israel and the Temple in use following exile.
Many of the OT prophesies about Israel involve the Temple which is still not in use.
Not only could they, some prophecies did indeed point to the reestablishment of Israel during the period when Yeshua fulfilled prophecy as well. Others point to the end time reestablishment of Israel. You should read the entire book of Isaiah if you're interested. I also recommend Daniel. Perhaps even view some of the documentaries on Daniel available on Netflix, Amazon and so forth.
Another of these amazing prophecies is Daniel's 70 week prophecy and how it foretold exactly what you hinted at above. But not only the reestablishment of Israel just prior to Yeshua, but it also contains another layer which precisely matches Yeshua's 70 week ministry (and not the false 3 1/2 year ministry taught by western Christianity).
When you begin studying the scriptures in earnest, you will discover the truth is far more amazing than you ever thought possible. I have a saying now, that once you know the truth, you don't have to have be blind to believe, you have to be blind not to believe. :-)
But I would contend that assigning prophetic abilities to natural phenomena is risky business. Plenty of false prophets have hung their economic hats on such occurrences. These are natural events, not supernatural events.
Matthew 5 is for those who are enamored with being law-keepers, so Christ took it a step further. His point in v.48 is that if you want to live by the law, fine, but you must keep it perfectly - in every respect (e.g. lust = adultery).
I think the apostle Paul lays it out pretty clearly in Romans 7: if we are married to Christ we are released from (the requirements of) the law.
4 Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.
5 For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death.
6 But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.
Paul expands his thoughts on the law in 1 Tim ch. 1:
8 Now we know that the law is good, if one uses it lawfully, [Perfectly!?]
9 understanding this, that the law is not laid down for the just but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who strike their fathers and mothers, for murderers,
10 the sexually immoral, men who practice homosexuality, enslavers, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound doctrine,
11 in accordance with the gospel of the glory of the blessed God with which I have been entrusted.
*****
The law was given to the unrighteous - because of their unrighteousness. The Righteous live by faith.
questions:
I asked you earlier - why do you think Christ came to earth? Was it do help us become more perfect law-keepers?
Christ’s last words: “it is finished” - what do you think he finished?
>> “ what do you think he finished?” <<
.
He finished exactly what he came to finish that day, the sacrifice of the sinless man. All else remains to be accomplished as laid out in his Revelation. That consists of the fall events, Yom Teruah, Yom Kippur, Succot, and The Last Great Day.
You need to accept his plain words in Matthew 5, as he meant every one of them. Torah will remain in force until the completion of the 7th millennium, as he stated therein. Those that have no taste for his Torah, have no taste for him.
That is why he said of his way “Few there be that find it.”
Few are even looking for it where he placed it.
Why was this necessary?
It was necessary to fulfill the spring feasts of course.
Seriously, myself along with the the lurkers would like to be able to follow your reasoning...
You do understand that false prophets are to be put to death?
Are you aware that his prediction was off exactly one year by the Biblical calendar? So when was the USA invaded by China and Russia? When was a global government established? When did the USA suffer nuclear attack? When did "most Americans" die? I seem to have missed that in the early 2000s. Must have skipped Georgia.
None of those are required to enter the 7th millennium, it is simply a passage of time.
There is no prophecy for the US to be invaded, that is your personal conjecture. Global government has been in force for at least two decades, from the realist point of view.
There is no prophecy for “most Americans” to die at any time short of the end of the 7th millennium.
You must be a Dispy, huh? Dispensationalism just doesn’t match any scriptures at all.
You stuff is almost as far fetched as John Hagee’s pipe dreams.
It’s already well laid out if you take the time to read it.
The regular lurkers have to be laughing at your goofy posts.

You must have missed that, let me repost it here for you. I quote:
