Apparently channeling an “ignorant” character that he sometimes plays on his TV show, comedian Stephen Colbert tweeted on Thursday, “I am willing to show #Asian community I care by introducing the Ching-Chong Ding-Dong Foundation for Sensitivity to Orientals or Whatever.”
Since then, racial outrage has ensued and the hashtag #CancelColbert has been trending nationally on Twitter. However, in this instance, some context is important. Mediaite’s Josh Feldman explains:
Stephen Colbert, in case you didn’t know this, plays a character on his TV show. A character that is purposefully ignorant. As he’s said in the past, “I do the show in character – and he’s an idiot; he’s wilfully [sic] ignorant of everything we’re going to talk about.” So bear that in mind as you read about people on Twitter calling for Colbert to be cancelled because of a tweet the show sent out that said some purposefully ignorant things.

He is nothing but liberal trash and this is what you get with the leftist media. In their eyes the only people that are able to be racists are the conservatives and those that have morals.
I think he’ll get away with it. Not quite as low as white Christian males, but Asians are pretty low on the diversity totem pole.

It's outrage by proxy. The caring among us are offended on behalf of Asians. Or Redskins. Or the fact that there are Conservatives who are allowed to live.
This is how it works. They outrage themselves and blame it on us.

You got it. I got it. Most everyone who thinks got it. That leaves the rest of the people who didn’t get it. They are either:
1. Low info voters who haven’t got a clue.
2. Snobbish elitists who haven’t got a clue.
3. Perpetually offended who don’t need a clue................
The same rule book on political correctness also says that WCHM’s are whipping boys they can be freely blamed for all of society’s ills.
I agree that Colbert is as not funny as it gets. I'm not offended by him. I just think he is to humor what Helen Thomas was to feminine beauty.

Not a fan, but am getting sick and tired of this business about someone finding any stereotypical humor sooooo offensive that the person responsible must be fired, pilloried, flayed alive, and fed to the dogs. People should lighten up. This idea of racism has truly jumped the shark. Don’t like what the guy says? Change the channel. People pretending to be outraged by this crap remind me of the line: “Methinks he doth protest too much.”.
That will be the ultimate undoing of Liberalism. They spend so much time with people like themselves they think EVERYONE thinks like them.
I agree. Colbert (or whoever deleted the tweet) should not have caved to the manufactured outrage.
