That’d be you CryingBear...
“I’d suggest you know far littler than you claim to know PU, certainly NOT the mind of the Almighty - by any stretch... “
We have His NT writings preserved in Greek. Thousands of fragments. We so not have your imagined Hebrew versions.
Since your fellow cultist won’t answer me, I’ll ask you...
How many True Rood followers are there? Counting you.
No doubts there. You sound like a Muslim, or anyone else not inclined to pursue truth as we were instructed to do.
How many “Flat Earthers” are there? Counting you.
Provide the Hebrew manuscripts that you claim the NT was originally written in.
Or provide a link to them.
That should settle the question right there.
If you have nothing, then that’s what your faith is based on.
Why are you guys soooo secretive about your Rood cult?
Why? Secret oath like the Mormon temple? Embarrassment?
If you’ve really discovered the truth, why do you hide it? Christ said no one lights a lamp and hides it under a basket... of course we only know this because of the Greek manuscripts, so maybe you don’t accept His words.
But please share what a large and diverse group of truth seekers you group up with at Rood, Inc.
Resorting to name calling again. Sigh.
"Michael John Rood is an ordained nondenominational Christian minister and Messianic rabbi," according to a brochure Rood produced to promote his seminars which have been held around the United StatesUnfortunately, Michael John Rood and his teachings are not credible or accurate. Rood is not trained, certified or recognized as a Rabbi, and his "ordination" by a cult called The Way International (TWI) required only minor instruction in an unaccredited TWI program.
His central teachings depart radically from the evangelical Christian faith, and several of his teachings and practices are typical among cults rather than among Christians or Messianic Jews (that is, Jews who have accepted Yeshua [Jesus Christ] as Lord and Savior).
Furthermore, many of his teachings and practices are drawn from a cult called The Way International which was incorporated in 1954 and widely denounced by Christian leaders and TWI's ex-followers alike. About 95% of TWI's followers have left TWI after seeing its severe errors, and many ex-leaders of TWI have founded a variety of splinter groups or ministries, just as Rood has.

Michael Rood is a self-styled "Messianic Rabbi."
He gained national attention first in the year 2000. During much of that year, Rood was a popular seminar speaker around the country, and guest on the national radio program The Prophecy Club, because he was dogmatically and bombastically predicting that the prophetic "Day of the Lord" would begin on the Feast of Trumpets in the fall of 2000. His prediction failed, but he has continued to promote his speculative prophetic theories through public appearances, literature, a collection of video and audio tape teachings, and his website.

Like I told you, the Hebrew Roots movement is much bigger than Michael Rood, even if the name rhymes. It is a multidenominational effort to understand the full truth of the Word.
You link to this (in more ways than one):
This is the man whose discredited writings you have unmitigated Gaul to use in attacking Rood:
MY TESTIMONY (Mike Oppenheimer)
I was brought up Jewish, went to Shabbat quite faithfully each Friday and celebrated the holydays at the temple and with family. Our family like many others, gathered together on the high holy days in observance. I attended Hebrew school twice a week and learned the language and eventually was Bar Mitzvahed and confirmed. While attending classes I asked a lot of questions about God the Rabbi could not answer. Though I continued each year, mainly to please my parents, I became less interested in the traditional religion of my parents and feeling hindered in my spiritual development, leaped head first into my own brand of freestyle spirituality after graduation.
By my own search in reading and attending lectures and gatherings I got involved in the New Age Movement, became a vegetarian and for 15 years practiced yoga and meditation. I ended up using psychedelic drugs for a time (LSD, mescaline etc.), as part of my regular religious observances and smoking pakalolo (pot) became part of my normal lifestyle. During these times I also experimented with various religions and the occult. I felt they each contained some part of the truth of the one true religion, just as Rosicrucianism teaches all religions are petals on the same flower.
I studied about the Ancient Masters of the East, learning about Buddhism and Zen I picked up on a number of the practices. I had a number of spiritual experiences which at the time I was sure were from God and leading me to a greater knowledge of myself and Him. I discovered and believed in the Ascended Masters that were guiding our world into a greater evolutionary path. I was involved with UFOs and channeled messages. I was sure I was on the right spiritual path because of the various signs things just fell into place. At the same time I also read the Bible (even the New Testament), not denying my Jewish roots. I began reading over 50 books a year, having an insatiable spiritual appetite, but God was working on my exit out of this spiritual bondage.
I had also started to surf before beginning my spiritual pilgrimage. I fell in love with the sport and began traveling, surfing and entering contests. Surfing became my livelihood after I learned to shape surfboards for a living. I became the NY champion for a number of years and eventually the eastern surfing champion for two years. Hawaii proved to be an irresistible attraction due to its fantastic surf. I moved permanently to Hawaii with my girlfriend Kathy in the mid 70s. This gave me more freedom to pursue both my first love of surfing and my freelance spirituality. We thought we were becoming enlightened. Reading books about the Ascended Masters involvement and learning about Earths past history on Lemuria and Atlantis. We desired to become servants of the New age movement, convinced that if we all united we could usher in an age of spiritual cooperation and enlightenment that so many were talking about. After nine years my searching came to a head when my girlfriend Kathy and I started to pursue our spiritual hunger more seriously and became involved in the I Am Movement (the Saint Germaine Society of the Ballards). Through calling on angels and powers unknown to us and by decreeing and using the Violet Consuming Flame to eradicate past life karma, we were learning to become active in the New Age Movement. At the time, Kathy was practicing affirmations, mantras, studying herbology, polarity therapy, kinesiology and learning about the supposed spiritual energies of the body. She also was a manager of a health store on the Island of Oahu.
If there is a cult running loose on FR, it’s you and your fellows...
No, its people being used by Satan to cast aspersion and doubt on Gods word. Its the same tactics Satan used in the Garden of Eden. Did God really say? They work in a long line of adherents. Mohammed, Joe Smith, the RCC, The Way International, Hebrew Roots, Michael Rood. All have information that no one else has. The scripture we have is corrupted and they have "revelation from God" that will set us all straight.
Im also surprised that apparently everyone doesnt know already you guys believe the (New Testament) Scriptures were originally written in Hebrew. Its a key claim for your theology Id say.
I would say it is important, but not key. I myself did not come to this position through a necessity of an Hebrew New Testament as much as from an etymological dichotomy - So to me, the meaning is more important than any Hebrew proofs. In fact, it was the defenses of your folks around Matt 23:2-3, using the verse as a hinge-pin toward authority that got my motor running in the first place. And seeking out the etymology puts that use to shame. : ) Indeed, it says the exact opposite.
As luck would have it, that very verse caught Rood's eye too, and the proofs he uses come primarily from the Shem Tov Hebrew Matthew and an early (but unique) Greek text, which is where the fervor and acclaim for an Hebrew text come from. But I hasten to reiterate that I came to quite the same conclusion in the KJV, without his proofs.
Consequently in researching, I have come to believe there is indeed much to defend Hebrew originals, and even much to defend an Aramaic interloper... That defense being primarily the existence of Hebrew and Aramaic word puns (an almost exclusively Semitic poetical device) , hidden in the Greek, which come to the fore when translated back into Hebrew and Aramaic respectively. I have seen the presence of these word puns ignored extensively, but never, ever adequately explained. And in reality, the only way they can be explained is by prior provenance in Aramaic and Hebrew versions.
But as I said, my intent is toward the meaning. As an example, the word 'disciple', whose connotation in the Greek is far less rigorous than the 'talmudim' in Hebrew. There can be no doubt that 'talmudim' is meant in the early books of the Brit hadasha, as Yeshua is portrayed as an Hebrew Rabbi, whose followers must in fact BE talmudim. And it is an extremely important point, as those who follow the Rabbi (to include you and I) must also be of that same rigorous sort - The intent must needs be cognizant of the Hebrew connotation, and you and I must be made aware of our duties in our expectations.
And the further I went, the more apparent these things became - Almost everything, every phrase and term, has a richer and more informed Hebrew meaning, which has caused the Book to flower for me like never before. I will NEVER again be able to look at the Book with Greek or Roman eyes.
In addition, no Hebrew manuscripts exist that are older than the oldest Greek texts.
In textual criticism, older is not/ does not have to be/ necessarily better.
[...] but we have had for centuries the claim they were always written in Greek. Its only been in relatively recent times that people have started to suggest they were in Hebrew.
Not true, at least for Matthew. There is much recorded in your church fathers wrt the existence of an Hebrew original.
how can we understand Scripture, from an etymological standpoint, by studying a Hebrew translation of the Greek? A translation is never inspired, in the strict sense.
That is not really true, for the same reason that Hebrew word puns appear.
“If there is a cult running loose on FR, its you and your fellows...”
Oh, sure “errant”. Aptly named.
Here’s the bottom line: You follow a man who started in a cult, left like +90% of all TWI followers, started his own splinter cult group, got kicked out by the board, which said he was running a cult, keeps money in his own name, registers his website with himself as owner, and travels around selling stuff to suckers like you.
No church. No cultic gathering. Just hanger-ons like the couple of you here, who think the WHOLE of Christendom has missed the true teaching (all cults argue that way) for thousands of years...
and NOW, this cult leader who claims to have visions from God, will teach you the truth - and that anyone who opposes him is of satan.
It is simply a cult, scamming cult leader, confused followers and grandiose claims of sole truth.
To stay specifically within your proof texts, how does one preach 'repentance and remission of sins' (Lk 24:47) without transmitting the definition of sin? How does one define sin without Torah? Knowledge of sin is found therein. What else defines wickedness (twisting of Torah) and iniquity (lawlessness)? How does a pagan understand what he has done and why it warrants the grace that comes with Messiah? How does he understand how another can take his place? How can he know 'right living' after the fact of his salvation? How is that given to the next generation?
As I said before, the sacrifices cannot be done - there is no altar on the mount.
