So the military aircraft Miller refers to was not involved in the rescue other than making the call to report the accident. Which I imagine would have taken place after the airport closed at 3.30.

The helicopters belonged to Coast Guard, Fire Department and air sea rescue.

There were no Navy helicopters, is that right?

A navy helicopter was photographed there - a Seahawk. And Puentes in his narrative description said that there were 2 helicopters hovering overhead; another one came after Lang. I just saw that as I was reading through the accounts again. I forgot to copy the link when I saved that report so I don’t have that. Sorry about that.
