Parenthetical clauses are used throughout scripture to explain how, why, when and where in close proximity to the main subject and verb.

Parentheses in the book of The Revelation explain cause and effect. They tie together the events that happen previously, to the events that transpire subsequently on the prophetic timeline. Unfortunately, parentheses, as a literary devise, come centuries after the actual parenthetical clauses so prevalent in both Hebrew and Greek linguistic constructions. Because of their late arrival into the English language, the parentheticals in the book of The Revelation have never been either deservedly researched or accurately articulated. Now, after more than 40 years in the making, The Chronological Gospels is complete with all of the extensive parenthetical clauses accurately assigned throughout the book of The Revelation.

Funny, that’s not what I recall when the the mass went from Latin to English and the altar was turned around. My land, you’d have thought the world was coming to an end.

When your spiritual life centers around the same ritual, and in which the focus is on elements of bread and wine which are worshiped as God, and held as giving you eternal life, then (you would think we would see this mentioned in every epistles, and as such) when something changes, it is somewhat traumatic.

You have tried that before. What you apparently forget is that with the internet it’s very easy to look up. Very few of those 613 apply to Levite Priests only. So give it up. It ain’t workin.

Like Rood, many have to twist scriptures to fit his teachings....but we really aren’t getting much scripture reference from them.....rather opinions of their own or twisted comments.

This is another reason the ‘truth’ escapes them, ‘their approach’ to scripture is to find evidence of Roods teachings because they “want” to believe in Roods teachings.

I’ve seen this many times working with those following false religious teachers and cult leaders of all kinds...it’s “standard” for them to mix and match scripture to the leaders teaching agendas. But as long as they’re seeking ‘false evidence’ of what they want to believe,.... they are not seeking Christ or the truth. ...thus they cannot understand ..just as you stated.

Are you just going to sit there and mock or join in the discussion? You may think you have no dog in the fight but this is about the GOSPEL of the grace of God. Do you stand on the side of Judaizers who insist no one can be saved outside of obedience to the law of Moses, even going so far as to condemn those who believe in “Jesus” instead of their version of His blessed name? Boiled down to the the basics, this argument is about HOW we can be saved. Will you join those who love the gospel and defend it against others who would pervert it for dishonest gain or will you sit back and laugh in derision because, for once, it isn't “about” Catholicism? I do wonder why you felt it necessary to even say anything?

Perhaps what they ‘believe’ prevents them from knowing the freedom Jesus offers.

The word “believe” is a powerful thing CynicalBear.....as it’s one thing to investigate or research other religions and or opinions of those involved in them....than it is to actually “believe” those teachings.

I can’t stress that enough as I’ve seen Christians you’d never think could fall for some of the stuff spewed out there, come to a point where it’s no longer ‘looking at’ these various false and misleading teachings, but they find themselves “believing” it’s possible..then they are hooked.

There was a fellow here On FR who was hardly grounded in the Christian faith....you could tell that...who was dabbling in the teachings of Islam. We tried do to warn him but he was ‘hooked’ and eventually left to follow Islam.

It was a very heart wretching moment when he bid us all goodbye to chase after Islam. I often wondered if he ever made it back to Jesus after all.

What part of is freed from all things do you not understand?

Then you claim that it’s the law of Moses that frees us. Directly contradicting the verse above plus others.

Why not introduce them to Jesus Christ Errant? Rather than to a list of videos from a mans teachings?

Why not give them the Gospel Message? Can you?

Why not encourage them to read God’s Word where they can find the answers with Him?

Why not give them a list of Jesus’s works He did?

Why not encourage them to Follow Jesus Christ as HE asked that we do?

Jesus never said we should love those who promote the very things which oppose HIS teachings. He said we should correct them, reprove them and stand against them.

Do you understand that, EVEN though there has been a rule of faith established since the beginning of Christianity and written down for all to know, there will still be heresies and dissenters that will try to slip in like wolves to confuse and pervert the truth? We have ancient creeds that pretty much ALL Christians hold - and HAVE held - to the doctrines they profess yet not everyone who isn't "Catholic" by default falls into a big basket as if it's Catholics versus all non-Catholics. You mocked that this thread is an argument between non-Catholics but instead of adding your thoughts that defend the Christian faith - that you SHOULD be holding to AS a Catholic - you only piped up to ridicule the "others" as if Catholicism is a beacon of unity.

We are bothering to debate this point because it DOES matter, because it can be the difference between eternal life or eternal death for those who do not understand the gospel of the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ. Like I said, listening to someone as they teach orally is not the same thing as READING their teachings and being able to dispute what they teach. Why doesn't Rood provide a written transcript? Why should I invest in HOURS of listening to him droning on or having to buy his DVDs in order to know what he professes? And, most importantly, why can't you encapsulate what his basic teachings are about certain subjects rather than only pointing people to websites and Youtube???

I don’t believe he knows really what Roody teaches to put it in a his own words, let alone understand any scripture he might use.

But that’s not going to happen because I believe his intentions simply remain to promote Roods videos on FR. He likely gets something for any who go there from FR and hit Roods sites.....surely Amazon “pays” out for references to them as we know.
