Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul said the Republican Party has to embrace a message of optimism and “look like the rest of America” to win again.

“If we want to win again, if we want to be a bigger party, not only do we have to be a party that looks like the rest of America—black, white, brown, with tattoos, without tattoos, earrings, without earrings—we have to look like the rest of America but we also have to have a party that has the message of optimism,” said Paul in his keynote address at the American Principles Project gala on Wednesday evening.

When the GOP becomes the party of the Constitution, the Bill of Rights and liberty, Republican ideas “will win the day again,” he said.

Paul suggested that Republicans should decide if they are going to “go bold” on fiscal issues or become “Democrat light.” …

This guy sounds just like a weasel.

The Paul DNA must have some inbreeding or bad chemicals infused.

Here is how you handle it.

GOP policies are good for EVERYBODY, therefore, no need to pander to this group or that group….PERIOD!

Tattoos? I’m sick of em.

Here in Austin, every douchbag hipster has them on all arms, necks, legs, and who knows what else.

Rand Paul just met with George P Bush on Hispanic outreach. That should tell you who he is if his backing of McConnell and the gay agenda went unnoticed.

The GOP has to stop buying into divisions and start pushing common sense conservatism. Anyone can understand that they can’t solve their budget problems by spending more money that they don’t have, that there is no such thing as spending your way to prosperity. They sure understand the need for decent, livable wage jobs, the need for a trusted doctor and basic solutions to problems. These are the things that unite all people.

For “Allen” West, I believe voter fraud cost him the election. Christine O’Donnell was stupid. Not sure about the others.

My read of this is that’s his point. It doesn’t matter what a person looks like, but what they believe and stand for.

I guess everyone was too busy spitting and sputtering to read: “When the GOP becomes the party of the Constitution, the Bill of Rights and liberty, Republican ideas “will win the day again,” he said.

Some of the best, strongest Conservatives I know are young tatooed small businessmen, and some of the biggest nanny-stater “moderate” Republicans look like they steeped right out of a yacht club.

Wrong!

Pandering to this group or that group is not how you convince ALL people to vote for you. There should be no black caucus, hispanic causes or whatever caucus. When you pander to one, you alienate the other.

Here’s a novel idea cripplecreek….just say your policies span across all racial, and ethnic boundaries.

What’s next, will this Paulhroid speak to LaRasa next? Why not?

You obviously didn’t read what I said or simply don’t have the courage to face it.

I’m guessing the latter.

Your kind are virtual mirror images of the left who really don’t care about reality, you only care about what you want. Nothing but pure emotion.

Rand Paul blows hot and cold. Today he is here, tomorrow he will make a statement to appease conservatives.

Exactly right. Rand has a bad habit of trying to be on all sides of every issue. He just ends up looking like an opportunist and a CINO. His priority appears to gaining power in the GOPe to advance the family flavor of wacko libertarianism.

My main problem with tattoos, is food servers who have freakishly over tattooed their bodies to the point where I’m afraid I’ll get hepatitis from them….which is a real concern. I took my mom to Amy’s Ice Cream here in Austin not long ago, and the server had tattoos from head to toe and had those giant amazonian saucer ear mutilations.

Never went back.

This is what you said…

“I think he’s simply speaking a truth that few conservatives want to hear and even fewer have the courage to express.”

then you say this…

“You obviously didn’t read what I said or simply don’t have the courage to face it.”

Either you don’t know what you yourself are saying, or you are too ambiguous in your words. Try it again please.

What superficiality.

Have principles and fight for them instead of prostrating yourselves before Obama.

What you miss in the immigration debate is there is no engagement from the GOP. If Rand means what he says then put the rubber to the road. Insist the kenyan enforce all laws now. Rub every criminal alien in the Dems face. Demand a meeting at the WH and bring the CBP union chief. Etc., etc.

The GOP won’t fight this battle.

All we get is just platitudes and time wasting jibberish from Paul, Boehner, Rubio, etc. Because really the beltway GOP doesn’t care about Latinos or any of us on Main Street. They are simply amnesty pimps trying to push through an agenda for their big donors.

He’s a sicko. How about sticking to Constiutional principles, clearly and loudly pointing out the defects of leftism and cronyism, and educating people on how that is what will save our country?

I hate to bust your bubble but there isn’t one conservative superstar out there who isn’t going to disappoint you on this issue in the end.

Face reality or be a child.

Barry Goldwater?

As for the rest on that list that are not actually RINOs, it’s not the individual but the party. The backstabbing and cold-shouldering by the GOP-e is on the record quite a bit. (You forgot about Steve Lonegan, BTW.)

Think about 2010 once more. How were the GOP more liberal than in 2012, or were they? What helped them push out the Dems from the House?

“Face reality” doesn’t mean surrender. It also does not mean to ascribe to a false reality preached by the opposition.

Fraud is the exact reason why it is imperative and critical we take White House Executive power away from demoRats. Without unity of all factions in GOP, get ready for Hillary or whoever.

I am not saying someone like Romney or McCain will get rid of election fraud, but another demoRat president will exacerbate fraud, that’s for sure.

So you think someone is going to round up 2nd and 3rd generation illegals and ship them out?

Yes or no.

By the time some of them start setting off suitcase nukes, you’ll wish they did, I have to say.

Ironic thing is that the administration is actually shipping illegals home right now. Might be quiet about it, and certainly not enough, but enough to keep the ones who have relatives “in the shadows” scared enough to keep up with the support of the Dems.

As I suspected. You couldn’t give a yes or no answer because then you would have been forced to confront the truth.

Instead you come off with some stupidity about suitcase nukes when I was talking about second generation illegals.
