Author Claims Norman Rockwell Was Closeted Homosexual, William Bigelow writes at Big Government:
American Mirror: The Life and Art of Norman Rockwell, a new biography of the great American artist and iconic figure Norman Rockwell, accuses him of being a closeted homosexual, basing the spurious claim on the fact that Rockwell would stop young boys on the street or at recess and ask if they would pose for his illustrations. The author, Deborah Solomon, ignores the fact that Rockwell, who was married three times and had three children with his second wife, who died unexpectedly in 1959, stated in his autobiography that after he asked the boy, they would go together to ask the childs mother for permission.Rockwells family is furious about the biography for its sloppiness and misuse of sources, saying there are a multitude of inaccuracies as well as a phantom theory about his sexuality. The family released a statement saying there were at least 96 factual errors in the book, and that Solomon made highly selective use of Rockwells autobiography My Adventures as an Illustrator.
Solomon would not reply to inquiries.

The FAGS are trying to pin the fag title on as many famous people that they can, whether they were or wer’nt.
Anyone who still doubts that the madness currently possessing American universities matters to society at large should take a stroll through todays Smithsonian. The Institution has been transformed by a wholesale embrace of the worst elements of Americas academic culture. The staples of cutting-edge academic research-smirking irony, cultural relativism, celebration of putative victims, facile attacks on science-are all thriving in Americas premier museum and research complex, its showcase to itself and to the world. The changes at the Smithsonian are not unique to that institution. Museums across the country have rushed headlong into what may be called the new museologv; based on a mindless parroting of academic fads. But the Smithsonians embrace of postmodern theory and identity politics is of greatest import, because of the Institutions contribution to Americas public identity. And of course, the Smithsonian was also eager to jump on the Norman Rockwell was gay bandwagon in October, their Website ran a massive 6000-word excerpt of Solomons biography, which reveals far more about the mindset of its author and publishers than it does any new details of Rockwells life."
Generating enough blogsphere traffic and voila (1) the author(s) will have notoriety, and (2) fabricated tale become ‘everybody knows that, known fact’.
If you ever find yourself in the Berkshires with time on your hands, you absolutely *must* visit the Rockwell Museum, especially his studio, unchanged since his death.
This is so stupid. There’s no way to know for sure about this aspect of the life of someone long dead. So we apparently are supposed to accept that various historic people were gay, because, well just because???
Is this supposed to help the self esteem of the homosexual community? They will say Rockwell was in the closet and all that??? sheesh, give it a rest.
IF so, he had the decency to stay ‘closeted’.
If the Gay community can claim American icons like Rockwell to their camp they believe it gives legitimacy to their deviant behavior.
It’s always the seriousness of the charge ....
This is a homosexual parlor game. Pick people at random in history and “prove” they are gay. You get extra points if squares like the guy in question.
O.K., so homosexuals aren’t supposed to be child molesters. Why would his talking to little boys make him homosexual?
MAN-BOY LOVERS ASSOCIATION AGIT-PROP-—perverts now say pedophilia is “natural”——that the deviant behavior is hard wired in them since birth.
The haters tried the same thing w/ active conservative-—and icon Walt Disney.
The haters made up horrid lies about him-—and got it published like it was true.
Other than the Air & Space Museum, I will not visit any part of the Smithsonian.
I noticed historical revision from the minute I entered the American History Museum a few years ago. I spent about an hour, then left in disgust.
If I had my pad / pencil with me, I would’ve documented the glaring factual errors and liberal shading I saw.
I did not, but my revulsion remains.
