INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. (CBS/AP) — A Lake Tahoe couple filed a police report saying they received numerous death threats and harassing messages after reporting problems with a black bear that was captured and euthanized by Nevada wildlife officials.

Richard and Adrienne Evans of Incline Village filed the report with the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday, the same day the bear was killed.

If it were here in my county, I’d pleasantly ask them to come over and ‘discuss’ the situation over a hot cup of 45 ACP.

Interesting that liberals are not concerned about the dozens of bald eagles (and other endangered species) killed by “green energy” wind farms every year.

They denied that there was food in the car!

Well that will teach the bear about car jacking.

Makes as much sense as their statement.

Yup. Crank up the waring blender. So, does green energy(?) trump peta? Gettin’ confusing to keep the asshats segregated. (Can I say the word segregate any more? Can we use the term “Plantation style” home?)

“Nevada Department of Wildlife spokesman Chris Healy says the 263-pound black bear was euthanized because it posed a threat to public safety. He says the animal was captured and released back into the wild earlier this year.”

Above from the article. This bear had already had his chance, there was no option left. This year the bears have come down into Carson City also. People here are really pretty tolerant of the wildlife but when they become repeat offenders and dangerous they have to go. Probably the complainers are part of the same group upset with opening up hunting for bear.

Maybe they should contact CSI Reno to to do some forensics testing of their vehicle and then if any evidence of food particles are found, charge them with baiting the bear.

Kind of like the cougar/mountain lion they found hiding under the outdoor stage at Harrahs Reno last year(earlier this year?)? He was lucky that time. If he gets caught again it’ll be bye bye Mr. Cougar. Guess his gambling habit was pretty strong.

I lived and worked in Tahoe back in the 80’s. Finally had my fill of snotty skiers and greenies and headed back east before I climbed the water tower. The powers that be there fought Wayne Newton (Mr. Las Vegas)for years over his desire to build a house on the Lake. He finally lost his last appeal and gave up. It’s a beautiful place and you can’t look at the lake reflecting the snow capped mountains that ring it without getting a sense of God. But try to displace a pine cone or disturb a blade of grass, and they put you under the jail.

Roger that. My wife thinks that if there’s anything that looks like heaven, Lake Tahoe would be it in her eyes. But you are correct about the ecos there. It’s okay for them now that they’ve moved there but nobody else can move there or build there without jumping some mighty high hurdles. Moving, maybe. Building, good luck.

It’s all about the runoff polluting the lake. Building homes in the “hills” creates runoff. You have to be able to see a dinner plate submerged about a 100 feet in the water. It’s important that we can see the dinner plate.

The reason these bears have to be killed is because people refuse to spend the money for bear resistant trash containers. I used to hike all over that area. Never saw a bear out on the trail. Saw plenty in town.

Bear hunting has always been legal on the cali side of the border in Tahoe.

The easy solution in this is every time one of these problem bears are caught just dump them off inside of the home of those who are complaining. If they want them to stay alive then can keep them and feed them. I hope they have a lot of pets and other bear food around.

Isn’t Carson City conservative by NV standards, or is that Elko? At any rate, NV is overrun with popular liberals.

Most of Nevada is pretty conservative with the exception of the Las Vegas area and now Reno. More liberals coming in daily unfortunately.
