Good luck at getting the constitutional amendment necessary for that, or the permission of the rest of the country expressed in federal legislation.

Secession by state action is not valid, as the separation would generate many controversies between the US federal government, and between the state which would have to be resolved per Article III at the Supreme Court.

Well, do it soon. I’m a Philadelphia Eagles fan. The NFL refuses to have foreign teams, so we would clinch the division if Texas left.

Texas isn’t going to secede.

Let me add my two cents.

Obama is creating a new America and Texas deciding not join Obamacare or Common Core, Texas has essentially refused to enter into Obama's turf.

Texas has, in spirit, already seceded by refusing to play ball with Obama's plan to turn our country into a Marxist state.

So there you go.

Sam Houston once said, "Texas can make it without the United States, but the United States can't make it without Texas"

If Texas leaves, many states will follow. Please Texas, look favorably on us from Georgia. We may have been one of the original 13 states, but it is time for us to get out.

I’ve always thought that Alaska would be the first state to secede. It’s cold, isolated, it’s people are well armed and independent. It has the potential to be energy dependent if it develops refineries, and oil exports could be used to support a currency. Alaska could also play off the US by making agreements with China or Russia. I wouldn’t be surprised if a few Alaskan oilmen have already met with Russian or Chinese arms dealers.
So if China moves into Taiwan and expands its sphere of influence deep into the Pacific, perhaps Russia would get a piece of the action by making Alaska into a satellite/ally.

There are a couple hurdles to secession. Lots of Federal infrastructure in Texas that the other 49 states contributed to. Going to give that back or pay the other 49 states back? Texas is not going to just up and leave the union with out ponying up quite a bit of money or getting their asses kicked in the process during repossession.

Hey, don't get me wrong, if Texas goes the route of seceding, I want to know where I can donate my wealth during said process to the cause while I get my affairs in order to move there. I'm up for a fight from "that" side of the new border.

And after secession, will TX kick out the liberals and illegals, establish English as the national language, close all borders and ban any attempt by the muslims to establish sharia and allow God back in society?

If they don’t do all these things, they will just become like the country from which they seceded.

A lot of effort for nothing.

There is an interesting dynamic here. The more rabid liberals may just want to rid the USA of Texas.

Doing so would virtually guarantee the DNC control of the federal government for many election cycles.

Conservatives would move to Texas, and the immediate loss of congressional seats and electoral college votes would give the liberals huge gains.

As I’ve stated in previous threads on this topic, I already regard myself a Texan first, an American second. America has become something I don’t even recognize anymore... a government that is becoming a corrupt, one-party banana republic, and a culture that is such a noxious, degenerate sewer. It’s rendering all these discussions about politics and elections rather pointless and moot.

With the Obama-voting blue-states embracing such deviancy as fag marriage, I’d be more than happy to sever connections. A country that has sunk to such depths is a republic I have increasinly little interest in preserving.
