Rifles to be Banned Under new California Law on Governor Brown's Desk

SB-374 is the bill on Governor Brown's desk that would ban most centerfire hunting rifles that are semi-automatics in California.  It is clear that this is another long slide down the slippery slope of gun confiscation.  I say ban, because anyone who bothers to consider it can see that gun registration is gun confiscation in slow motion.

Here is a short list of additional rifles that will be required to be registered.  The legal supply will be cut off.  No more will be legally allowed into the state.  Notice that attempts to appease those who push citizen disarmament by making it difficult for the rifle to take magazines of more than 3 or 4 rounds, such as the Browning BAR, were not enough to keep the rifle off the list.

These are only the examples that I thought of in a short time.  I am sure that there are many that I am missing.

Browning BAR

Remington 740, 742, 750, 7400 rifles.

Some Remington model 8, or 81 rifles, many were modified to take detachable magazines.

Ruger 99/44

Winchester 1907

Bennelli R1

Kel-Tec SU-16

M1 carbine

M1A

Saiga rifles

Mini-14

Heckler & Koch HK-SL6, HK-SL7, HK-660, HK-770

Ljungman m/1942

Tokarev SVT-40, SVT-38

Jaeger AP70 in .32 acp

Nearly all semi-automatic  rifles that use a simple tool to remove the magazine.
This was aimed at the so-called "bullet button" California legal rifles.

It appears that nearly all pistols with a threaded barrel are also banned.  This includes such popular pistols as:

Many of the popular Ruger 22/45 series

Many Walther P-22 pistols

Many HK-USP pistols

Here is a Link to the existing California Assault Weapon Identification Guide.

Looking at the many useful and well made firearms that have already been essentially banned in that state shows that appeasement does not work.

Those who want to disarm the citizenry are not interested in stopping crime.  Rifles are used in less than 3% of homicides.  Hands and feet were used to kill twice as many.    These people are not about reducing crime.  They want to disarm anyone who does not answer to their orders.

I’ve seen ads for scattergun uppers.

7.62x25 is a pistol cartridge. What’s so intriguing about that? May as well get a 9mm upper. Cheaper and more available ammo (in a normal world.)

All these politicians should be required to sign a pledge that they won’t have armed bodyguards since nobody will have guns.

If Californians allow for this, some other states better start talking secession.

“Saw on youtube the other day that someone is making a complete upper in 7.62x25 for the AR receivers. Now THAT intrigued me.”

I understand. I have an affinity for the unusual, also.

I have Nagant conversion cylinder for 7.62X25. Doesn’t work half bad.

I might like an 8.5 or 11 inch AR pistol upper in 7.62 x 25 ... the buffer tube allows one to mount a butt stock after WROL arrives.

This is what happens when Democrats control all branches of government.

I hate to say it, folks; but it’s almost to the point where CWII — CWIII, really, because that little rebellion that started in earnest on April 19, 1775 was in fact a civil war — is inevitable. The right against the left. I think it is now unavoidable.

scotus has already ruled you can’t ban constitutional rights under guise of regulation.

guess they’ll be going back.

Laws can be changed. They can be challenged. Liberals will take stuff to the courts as many times as necessary until they finally get something on the books that they like.

And at that point, it immediately becomes THE LAW OF THE LAND and no one can ever question it again.

7.62x25 is very powerful, cheap, and has far more effective range and flatter trajectory than 9mm Luger. It’s really a hot SMG round, less of a pistol round.

Besides, 9mm ARs are often very finicky combobulations that in no way match the reliability or utility of dedicated 9mm SMGs.

Whatever the cartridge though, a pistol caliber AR is really nothing more than a novelty for amusement of people interested in being amused by pistol caliber ARs. :)

As far as the left is concerned, Americans cannot
be trusted with these high capacity lead delivery systems.

You said “That’s why the HUD is pushing hard for rural integration” .....

Also to flood the “Red” counties with Somalis yada, to vote the more Bolsheviks in ...and its not just Kalifornia either, “His” agencies are looking at demographics closely of all precincts.
