I just heard Hannity say we need to encourage everyone in the house by calling 202-224-3121 and just say "HOLD THE LINE!"

Fund only those things that fall under Art I, Sec 8,

and label them in the bills as such.

Yep. Starting with major dependency programs, and then when the Senate turns it down scream that they hate whoever the victim is. The Dems do this all the time. Why not us?

Yes. Do a CR for each agency, etc. one each day and let the Dems in the Senate shoot them down, then jump in front of a "news" media camera and complain about how "we're trying to get the government going again, but the Dems in the Senate keep refusing to cooperate".

Have many House and Senate Repubs saying the same thing over and over and over. Take the initiative, be proactive. Wake up, Repubs! Now's the time to strike!

Ted Cruz is absolutely right. One way to shame the Dems is to make them vote on this leviathan one piece at a time.

They won't make a real budget, so let's get 'em on record for EACH AND EVERY PROGRAM.

He should say “the House of Representatives is exercising its Constitutionally granted Power of the Purse to exempt certain Government departments from the Obama shutdown.”

I think it’s great that Peter King is Ted Cruz’s caddy.

I heard the suggestion concerning individual CRs yesterday. It’s such a practical way to fund other constitutionally indefensible federal spending programs, while discriminating against Obamacare in particular, that if the RINO-controlled House doesn’t do it then we’ll know that the House is really playing games with us on Obamacare.

In fact, why didn’t House take this approach long before the shutdown?

I think it’s a good idea. Make the Dems reject it.

Schumer has finally met his match in a republican tactician!

And let us all remember that the RNC, the NRSC and the entire republican leadership did literally everything possible to keep this man from getting into office!

It’s a shame there isn’t a highly intelligent, courageous Ted Cruz/Mike Lee counterpart among House Republicans.

If there were, he/she would already be introducing a bill to fund Veterans’ agencies or other worthy parts of the government during the shut-down.

There doesn’t seem like a lot of time to lose in putting Ted Cruz’s strategy into action, since the John Boehner/Mitch McConnell axis of wimpyness is always on the verge of caving in to the Democrats and ending the Republicans’ stand on eliminating ObamaCare.

This is genious. This forces Obama's hand and puts the blame on him. Obama is refusing to fund anything until Obamacare is funded first.

Republicans should stand their ground forever. Keep putting in funding bills one at a time... just NEVER one with Obamacare. This means that the Dems would have to take blame. Especially if they refuse to sign anything... even "essential" items... until Obamacare is funded first.

Like other posters said, this is also a FANTASTIC idea to cut unconstitutional or crappy programs like the EPA or IRS. Just don't fund them. Let's address everything again... ONE AT A TIME. If it's not at the top of the list then it's not a priority and it dies on the vine!

The support for Republicans would swell and they would be heroes to the American people.

If the dems refuse everything then THEY TAKE THE BLAME... all for their wildly unpopular Obamacare.

Boehner should announce this publicly. Something like, "Doing things like we always have has resulted in out of control spending and a national debt that can never be repaid. We are taking this opportunity to listen to the will of the people and stop out of control spending. We have decided that it is best at this point to focus on essential programs and we will handle them on a case by case basis. We hope that Obama will understand that there are other priorities to address and that refusing to sign any legislation until his program is funded first is just plain selfish."

I think it’s possible the Left has acquired Cruz Derangement Syndrome even faster than they did the Palin version. Dickie Durbin in particular... he’s still smarting from having his petty “gotcha” moment shot down during the filibuster.
