I need to go take a shower, but I don’t think I’m going to feel any better. I’m sure the day is not going to improve the way I’m feeling.
I have to make an appointment about my asthma, and I’m sure my BP is way up.
Well, good luck with the shower. It is not raining here.
I dried off, I think, after the shower, but the humidity is about 90% so it didn’t do much good.
I’ll be leaving soon...when it gets a little lighter out.
So far, Hooterville Station has gotten about 1/2” of rain this morning. And the weather prognosticator said that this monsoon season, we have had 17 of the last 21 days with RAIN! He also said he has never seen it extend this far into September or have so many days of rain so close together. How reassuring is that?
It sounds like you need to live in a drier desert! Maybe the Gobi? What about Death Valley?
Thankfully, it’s only for 6-8 weeks (well, 11, this year!) so it’s still a desert. All this is doing is flowing over the concrete-hard desert floor and going into Lake Mead, which is where we need it.
Of course, it does help the aquifers farther upstate, too.
It’s just hard for me to function with all the dampness, as my joints swell so much.
Hopefully you’ll dry up soon.
From a kitten, the impact is different. Good morning! Pouring rain here. Good thing, too. The lawn was getting crunchy.
How did you celebrate? Give us all the details so that we can enjoy vicariously!!!
We’ve had so little rain in the last couple of weeks that I stopped checking the forecast!
Any word from Pixley?
Raining all day here. This storm has brought .69” so far....
I’m usually not on FR over the weekends, so I missed the transition. That said, I made spaghetti and meatballs! I made a big mess, but now I have 2 pretty good lunches for this week.....
mmm, I need to come up with more recipes for lunch leftovers. A hot lunch will be much better than just a sandwich and chips....
I don’t recall much of anything that we have for dinner that didn’t make a reheatable lunch for the following day. Have at it! Maybe you could look at Budget 101’s cooking-for-the-freezer section for ideas. (Or maybe it’s somebody else’s ideas—the old brain’s not too reliable of late.) Or you could look at what Tax-chick’s making. Or you could pick up on-sale produce and some rotisserie chicken and have a lovely chicken dinner one evening and a salad/pasta/rice/casserole dish with the remainder the following days.

Yes, eye-candy is a legitimate reason to watch something.
Pixley....???
It’s supposed to be rainy for the next two days...the humidity is ugly...
It’s by Hooterville
The rain started about 0400 and by the time I left at 0615, the rain had eased. I got onto the freeway and it was dry, so the rain was in a very narrow corridor...over my house!
I don’t know what we got with this system, but I’m sure it’s the same one you were dealing with.
Hahahah...
