It’s more stupid than that. In the 70s Brown brought all the unions into state government. Today we have a half trillion deficit with them because of him. For that the ignorant people of California gave him reelection to office.

Stupid is as stupid does.

There are hoses of certain materials which are superior to copper. Not allowed in a lot of states but they are said to be superior to anything else with their cleanliness.

In some places they use sprinkler vinyl hoses as piping. Don't know if I want to be drinking that stuff.

As a kid those hoses with the lead were safer than today’s stuff from China.

PEX

It’s food grade stuff; easier to work with than copper, comes in colors so you always know which line is hot, assembles with press-in fittings that have internal o-ring seals — not much to dislike about it.

Was there any other way to drink when you were outside on hot summer’s day, than the hose? The water was always colder than it was in the house, and if you let it run for a few minutes, the rubbery taste was gone. What’s not to like?

Yeah, I remember that stuff. Makes running line easy and cheap. Then when you come up to the fixtures you use common stuff.

As usual they are trying to reverse prop 13 to double or triple home taxes.

Of course that will boost the economy. ;-)

Yeah, if it’s flexible, and in color like that I’m 99 and 44/110ths percent sure it’s PEX.

I do any of them.

I’m going to get my scuba in March. I want the open waters training.

Skydiving would also be great well, anytime.

You live at Stateline, NV? or maybe AZ?

It’ll be a blast and we cheer each other on.

Of course. Osama said so when he didn’t draw a red line through the world.

I sure wish you could take Mrs Guy and the Little Guy outta that place. What a hotbed of liberal stupidity.

I live in Hooterville Junction, NV, otherwise known as Henderson, about 35 miles from the CA border.

I have relatives in AZ and UT, and as soon as I can figure out what I really want to do for my next “exciting” Birthday of Note, I will let you know.

I’m thinking skydiving, as that seems to be the cheapest. I have a niece in AZ who goes SCUBA diving around the world, so I could talk to her. My birthday is eight months away, so that is plenty of time to plan and save.

And YES! It would be a blast, and cheering each other on is a GOOD thing!

:o])

Skiing takes coordination. I never learned, but that doesn’t mean I can’t. Given the opportunity, I’m up for it!

Balance is everything, right?

"But now that I know...how’s it going? Are you on vacation? Or is this something you must do in order to keep the roof from leaking and the foundations from going wonky?"

It's going slowly. Not on vacation.
Ostensibly, I'm refurbishing a bathroom. But when I say that the last two preparatory efforts for that project involved building a supporting wall in the basement, and then another supporting wall on top of that, you may realize that this is anything but a standard repair project!

But your comment about the roof leaking and the foundation going wonky is eerily prescient.

Aw, jeeze, Bob!

I’m so SORRY!!

LOL!

(And here I am, trying to find a Haynes Manual for my truck for not a lot of money so I can trouble-shoot the relay switches that control the fuel pump, alarm, and Stereo/DVD player... It MUST be simple because it’s so hard to find...)
