Yeah!!!
Fifty is nifty....and still people think I’m only 35. Kewel.
Funny and thanks!
Hahahahaha!
I get a lot uglier from dawn to dusk, as gravity takes over and my non-face-lifts respond.
;o]
Happy Birthday!
Fifty, huh?
For my 50th, I rented a restaurant, hired a DJ, sent out “funeral” notice (black border) invitations on gray stock, and had everyone wear black, in mourning of the passing of my 49th year. My cake even had a tombstone on it with “RIP 49.”
It was a lot of fun. Heck. I could only turn 50 once, so why not celebrate?
I hope your day is a good one!
Korean has a pretty unique alphabet, it has fewer symbols than the thousands in Chinese and hundreds in Japanese. As a matter of fact it has fewer “letters” than English.
You may have noticed Korean names normally have 3 syllables.
They pronounce it different than we do, we might say “Lee” but there is no “L” in that name. We might say “Park” but there is no “R”. In Korean they are pronounced “ee” and “pak”. They don’t seem to mind foreigners using the English version of their names.
As a matter of fact they used to write vertically instead of across and right to left instead of left to right. That last one changed very recently to become more westernized.
happy birthday
Yay, I just want to quietly do my 50th. Just not really into it for a variety of reasons and I feel good about the reasons why.
I’m suppose to go to Auberge in Carmel for dinner but, if that doesn’t happen I’m going to our local BBQ place and I’m going to eat a full rack of Beef Ribs and wash em down with some IBA beers.
I’m going to celebrate my 55th and 60th in a way that will be beyond awesome.
I saw a Japanese book of crochet patterns once, and though the patterns were easy to read (crochet “shorthand” as it were) the book opened from the back to the front. I never got used to it.
I figure each of those years is a milestone of sorts, and SHOULD be celebrated!
If I had the money, I’d do my next one up to a Fare-Thee-Well!
Maybe sky dive or go SCUBA diving, or something...mule ride in the Grand Canyon? No...I still have saddle sores from the last time I rode! LOL!
Thank you!
I was thinking of posting a picture of me standing on Ellis Island with World Trade Center behind me.
I recall my birthday these days for two reasons:
1. It’s Constitution Day and I proclaim it all day long. Giving me the opportunity to explain one or more rights. Idon’t force it on anyone. I merely point out that it’s kewel to be born on this day.
2. I was suppose to be in New York the week of 9/11 for my birthday and I am reminded of the heroes; emergency responders, joe citizen and even certain poiticians.
I am proud to be an American and even prouder of our unique and extraordinary exceptionalism.
Well, I wanted to jump out of a plane but, am still recovering from a shoulder operation.
Having nearly died three times, the last one being just last week, I am informed that I can do anything.
In a few more months I should be good to go and will go back to snowboarding, solo hiking and a few other stupid things I do.
I love to heli-board but, that’s not realistic this season.
I’m going back to Valle Nevado in Chile next labor day and will try to go up at least 3 times a day for a week before going down to Portillo.
Luv Chile and the girls love blue eyed Americans.
But, this year it’s going to be quiet.
Well, except that “Null and Void” and “Shimmer” took me to the range yesterday so we could use our long distance cordless drills.
It was a good day and really enjoyed their company.
That, and they bought me lunch at the best Mexican restaurant in town.
Just nice friends.
I like Nully because he gives me chocolate!
I dislocated my left shoulder in October of last year, and it is still healing, but my range of movement is about 85% now. Which is good!
One of my many nephews married a Chilean woman, but that’s about as close as I will ever get to the country!
I don’t have a long distance drill, but I got something today that may help in the short rows...a pellet gun. I will go to the local gun shop and try to see how many targets I can hit. I was pretty doggone good, years ago, and with a sling shot, I am awesome. But this pistol will be a new experience...
I will be seeing Nully in a couple of weeks. He’s going to show me his soap recipe...*snort*
Oh, so your shoulder is taking a year or better as well?
Good, I don’t feel so bad about my recovery.
What is a “Fare-Thee-Well”?
Do you live in KahLeeFawnEeeYah?
I’d go do one of those things with you.
Yes, the anniversary date of the injury is next month, and without “therapy” I have managed to regain almost all of the movement in my shoulder. My lateral motion is still a little stiff, but with each shower and each application of a natural cream for arthritis, I am able to meet and exceed the expectations I had the week before. I exercise the arm in the shower, and try at odd moments to do things I couldn’t do immediately after the injury.
It will never be “as good as new,” but then, neither will I!
A Fare-Thee-Well is something that is the Utmost In Perfection!
No, I don’t live in KahLeeFawnEeeYah, but I’m mighty close...sharing a western (for me) and eastern (for it) border.
Which one of those things would you do with me?
electricians are finished except for the inspection/hookup/walk through to make sure the house doesn’t burn down
lol
Best make sure they are using one of these... ;-)
Unless one of them is named "Bob", then they're covered... ;-)
