The U.S. government is looking to recruit members for what some are calling a Behavioral Insights Team, a panel of experts that will study human behavior so as to design public policies that work better, cost less, and help people to achieve their goals, according to a document describing the program...

The Onion?
I nominate George Zimmerman.
Ping.
Those memos might have set an all-time record for buzzwords and obfuscation. Exactly what they want to do - specifically - is never quite addressed. It’s almost a coded message. They clearly want to use the power of the federal government to manipulate people in some manner, but to what end?
My goal is to be left alone to my industry and enterprise by the government and not be taxed to death.
I nominate George Zimmerman.
Are you kidding me? This is definitely a job for Anthony Weiner.
I’m guessing that none of these ‘public policies’ involve government minding it’s own damn business and leaving folks alone.
The return of the Wilsonian Creel Commission or Committee on public information.
That is so 1776.
That is obviously a racist, bigoted, and homophobic statement. Your local Thought Correction Coordinator shall arrive shortly.
I thought of Cass Sunstein and his "nudge" advocacy.
To me it seems that the Sunstein and others are trying to nudge us back into the "Fairness Doctrine" era of a silenced majority.
Obama's former regulatory czar Cass R. Sunstein writes:
"The idea of libertarian paternalism might seem to be an oxymoron, but it is both possible and legitimate for private and public institutions to affect behavior while also respecting freedom of choice."
more..
"Often people's preferences are ill-formed . . . In these circumstances, a form of paternalism cannot be avoided [to overcome the decision-makers' limited knowledge and just plain stupidity otherwise known as] bounded rationality . . . libertarian paternalists should attempt to steer people's choices in welfare-promoting directions without eliminating freedom of choice . . . It is also possible to show how a libertarian paternalist might select among the possible options and to assess how much choice to offer." [End of quotes]
IOW Cass R. Sunstein and the Obamanists decide the options from among which you are permitted to choose. You get to be a libertarian! and they get to be the slave masters. What a deal! Czars and their fetters.
Because you can’t build that.......
No. Cass Sunstein.
Insert suitable expletive here——> _________ I’m so tired of all this stuff.
They are social engineers. They do not believe in God. They believe they are gods and have the right to program people to serve and worship them.
AKA, design the “New Soviet Man.”

The Obama campaign apparently already had such a group last year - looked at voting patterns of various groups and sought to change that behavior to the advantage of Obama - one such project was to track down voters in ‘rat neighborhoods who were not likely to vote for the ‘rat candidates, then contact them and threaten to tell their neighbors of their voting habits on the hope that this would coerce them into changing their votes - aside from being disgracefully unethical and a violation of civil rights and the law, this is a good indication of the kind of frightening coercion that can occur when big brother government takes hold.....
