My daughter recieved a letter from Selective Service of Threat of Prosecution

Vanity, sorry. My youngest, a FEMALE, whom has always been a FEMALE, with a Birth Certificate, valid SS number, and has been declared on taxes for 18 years as a FEMALE, recieved a threatening letter from Selective Service ordering her under threat of Prosecution, to make a copy of her BIRTH CERTIFICATE and send it in within 10 Days.

My other daughter, did NOT receive this kind of harassment which does NOT happen to Illegal Immigrants even though they are required to register.

I have tried calling Selective Service as I do not want, nor do I think this is warrented, making a copy of her Birth Certificate (wow, don't need anything to vote according to the Supremes), and sending it in within 10 days or SHE FACES PROSECUTION. Selective Service is NOT answerning their phones, but I did send them a very strongly worded email. Here are the requirements for Illegal Immigrant Men, and the penalties.

Are undocumented immigrant males required to register? Yes. All undocumented immigrant males, other than those admitted on nonimmigrant visas, must register, whether or not they have a green card.

What if I am over age 26 and haven't registered? Once you reach age 26, it's too late to register. Even though you may not be prosecuted, you may be denied student financial assistance, Federal job training, and most Federal employment unless you can provide convincing evidence to the agency providing the benefit you are seeking, that your failure to register was not knowing and willful.

Penalties for not registering (Applies to Illegal Immigrant Males)

Registration is the law. A man who fails to register may, if prosecuted and convicted, face a fine of up to $250,000 and/or a prison term of up to five years.

Even if not tried, a man who fails to register with Selective Service before turning age 26 may find that some doors are permanently closed.

See also Men over the age of eligibility to register. See also What Does Selective Service Provide for America.

Register Now! - Register online.

STUDENT FINANCIAL AID Men, born after December 31, 1959, who aren't registered with Selective Service won't qualify for Federal student loans or grant programs. This includes Federal Pell Grants, Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants (FSEOG), Direct Stafford Loans/Plus Loans, National Direct Student Loans, and College Work Study.

CITIZENSHIP The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) makes registration with Selective Service a condition for U.S. citizenship if the man first arrived in the U.S. before his 26th birthday.

FEDERAL JOB TRAINING The Workforce Investment Act (WIA) offers programs that can train young men seeking vocational employment or enhancing their career. This program is only open to those men who register with Selective Service. Only men born after December 31, 1959, are required to show proof of registration.

FEDERAL JOBS A man must be registered to be eligible for jobs in the Executive Branch of the Federal government and the U.S. Postal Service. Proof of registration is required only for men born after December 31, 1959.

Some states have added additional penalties for those who fail to register. See State Legislation.

Selective Service wants young men to register. It does not want them to be prosecuted or denied benefits. If a draft is ever needed, it must be as fair as possible, and that fairness depends on having as many eligible men as possible registered. In the event of a draft, for every man who fails to register, another man would be required to take his place in service to his country.

Sorry about the vanity, but I am ticked. Ticked at this, ticked at the Illegal Immigration lobby and Illegal Immigrants who’s rate of complying is about as close to ZERO as you can get.

Suggestions?

Relax, they’ve never prosecuted anybody. However it would be wise to get it cleared up as it can effect federal benefits and job opportunities that require a security clearance.

Does she have a name that may be construed as belonging to a man? Has she recently applied to college and inadvertently replied to the selective service question as No rather than N/A?

Is her mother a tea partier?

Early indication they plan to draft women?

(especially the daughters of tea partiers?)

I don’t think females are required to register. Does your daughter have a male-sounding name? Like Tucker, or Tyler? Or, like the President’s mama, Stanley?

I half way expected my daughters to recieve such a letter as they both have names that are for male or female.

I don’t know. This almost looks like a sophisticated scam to steal an identity. It’s not that difficult to come up with very official looking documents. I would check further into this with the real Selective Service.

Then again, it could be legit considering some of the no-brains talent that the government hires these days.

Although it’s probably just a formality from the SS, under this regime of the twice unconstitutionally elected admitted foreign born communist Kenyan, it wouldn’t surprise me in the least if it’s another way they are harassing a conservative.

Verify the return address and such. This could easily be a scam to get identity information on your daughter.

Whoa yes I think you could be quite right about that. From what I remember there was no birth certificate required to register.

That's better.

I’d do nothing. Just let the idiots embarrass themselves when they try to prosecute your daughter for not doing something she isn’t supposed to do anyway.

to make a copy of her BIRTH CERTIFICATE and send it in within 10 Days.

That sounds odd. In most instances when one is required to submit a birth certificate, such as when applying for a passport, a copy made on a Xerox machine or printer is unacceptable.

They sent me a letter like this when I was already a Private First Class out in the Fleet Marine Force.
