Radio host Dennis Miller and National Review columnist Mark Steyn considered Thursday the possible outcomes if the United States continues down the path of socialism.
If socialism became the prevailing governing philosophy, Miller speculated, escaping it wouldnt require a move to the Australian outback. Instead he suggested heading for the state of Texas, because it would be the first place to push back against it.
If I ever do flee, dont think fleeing has to involve you going over to Alice Springs or something, Miller said. Im going to Texas because thatll be the first place that pushes back. Theyre not going down the tubes with this country if this country decides to go down the tubes. I really think Id head for Texas.

Texas is going to have to do something about Austin and its border areas. They are driving it towards “purple” status.
Can we get the Northeast to secede instead? I mean, it isn’t a crime if the Democrats do it, right?
"Hey Davey, I didn't know we were pouring concrete today"
Little late, fellas
I lives in Texas for 10 years, the Texans of Mexican descent who have been in Texas for generations, from the time of the original land grant form the King of Spain, are not the same as the illegal immigrant. They seem to hate it as much as the any Texan does.
Know why there were only 2000 mexicans at the alamo?
They could only get one pickup started.
When we run Scott Walker/Ted Cruz in ‘16, it will all be over for the RATS.
His family and mine were here when nations really didn't have much power, except for the native nations that both his family and mine were fighting. That would mainly be from NM territory and OK territory.
The ones from Guatamala that are here without a visa? Not so much.
I'm a Texan that speaks enough proper spanish to be polite, and enough improper spanish to get into a fight or get a bathroom, a bottle, or a girl.
Deep down, for the ones that have roots here, I'm ok with that. The others? {redacted}.

I’ve gradually found myself self-identifying more and more as a “Texan” in recent times, as opposed to an “American.” Especially as America itself continues spiralling downward into the sewer, morally and culturally. It’s hard to feel any connection or care towards a country that seems okay with embracing Obama-style statism and the abject degeneracy of fag marriage. Secession looks better and better with each passing year.
I live in Louisiana now and I have lived in California. The Texan of Hispanic heritage fly Texas flags and have Texas bumper stickers and love their cowboy hats and boots. In Ca. the Hispanics fly the Mexican flag. Big difference.
We can do it peacefully this time or engage in another desperate struggle to the bitter end. I'm good either way.
This seems like a good time to link this particular sermon. This was preached before in 2005 or 2006, not in response to Obama. Sadly, most today have never heard this view of history, even Southerners.

And yes, it was the concrete crew for a sewage lift station.

"If owned Texas and Hell I'd live in Hell and rent out Texas." -- Gen. Philip Sheridan :)
The trouble is, every conservative in the US can’t fit into Texas. It’s a huge state, but we can’t all live there.
Listening now. Great speech. Man knows his history.
The dead side.
That's why siege engines were invented:)
Welcome to the party. Made the move over 1 year ago. Texas has also made it very difficult to get a drivers license. Establishing residency is no easy task.
"The streets are extended gutters and the gutters are full of blood and when the drains finally scab over, all the vermin will drown. The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout "Save us!"... and I'll look down and whisper "No."""They had a choice, all of them. They could have followed in the footsteps of good men like my father or President Truman. Decent men who believed in a day's work for a day's pay. Instead they followed the droppings of lechers and communists and didn't realize that the trail led over a precipice until it was too late. Don't tell me they didn't have a choice."
"Now the whole world stands on the brink, staring down into bloody Hell, all those liberals and intellectuals and smooth-talkers... and all of a sudden nobody can think of anything to say."

I like that name for our new country: The Constitutional States of America.
