One of the lessons the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is taking away from the Boston Marathon bombing is the potential for phone cameras and video recorders being used to plan these kinds of attacks.
Secretary Janet Napolitano says DHS is looking into the inherent threat posed by unauthorized use of these devices, especially in heavily trafficked public places. Law enforcement personnel at every level need to be on alert for people deploying these devices.
Napolitano professed to be especially concerned that government officers in the midst of carrying out the directives of higher authorities might be intimidated by fears that their actions are being secretly recorded.
In related news, those who want an iconic photo of President Obama observing a moment of silence in memory of the victims of the bombing should contact Democratic National Committee headquarters (ph. 202-863-8000). Chairwoman Representative Debbie Wasserman-Schultz urged everyone to commemorate this tragic and historic moment by obtaining this portrait of our indomitable leader and simultaneously making a donation to help ensure that the Party has the funding needed to continue promoting its agenda.

Without those devices, they would still be looking for the suspects, who would have carried out more bombings by now.
For the non-satire version ... Bing (not google) ‘boston: death sentence for looking out window’ ...
“unauthorized use of these devices”
Pardon???? GFY DHS.
Seemingly they should ban races, pressure cookers, sidewalks, and Islamic jihadists, as well.
(I know it is satire.)
Although meant as satire we all know Janet Napolitano is as dumb as a board and is probably writing up the initial directive as we speak.
Damn near had me this time....
Ha got me for a moment - didn’t read who posted it.
They are actually debating a law in Texas today to penalize police if they try and stop someone from recording them.
Can you imagine the outcry from the MSM if police told them to stop filming something.
They are pissed, because they were forced to hang it on the actual perps. Look for Janet to seek a ban on public recording DHS Stormtroopers and police officials from AJ Holder.
when Big Sis finds out what a cell phone is ,she’ll ban them altogether or just a shoot on site order
Exactly why these people do NOT want such devices being used by the general public.
...when they pry my Instamatic from my cold, dead hand...
They’re kidding, right?
A thousand citizen cameras is better than one Homeland Security Division in public situations like the Boston Marathon.
OK...I see now the article is satire. But it has the potential of becoming true very, very soon under Mister Janet Napolitano.
Dangit, John.. I was all fired up and ready to go! Excellent!
How dare you monitor the government?
I realize this is satire but we really shouldn't be giving the old girl (allegedly) any ideas!
Napolitano professed to be especially concerned that government officers in the midst of carrying out the directives of higher authorities might be intimidated by fears that their actions are being secretly recorded.
Hey, there's no problem here! The MSM just submits all digital and/or film recordings to the Ministry of Information for review and editing and then - presto! they get approved....or squashed.
