While officials are still investigating who was behind the deadly bombings at the Boston Marathon, President Obama made it clear on Tuesday that authorities are still unclear whether domestic or foreign actors are responsible for the attack.
But one message from domestic terrorism experts is clear: Most of the evidence points against an antigovernment group being responsible for the attack. Several militia groups, who fiercely and sometimes violently fight to keep their Second Amendment rights, have come out against the bombings in Boston.
While some of the factors surrounding the Boston bombings could point to these groupsa simplistic homemade bomb, causing mass casualties, falling on Tax Dayother factors dont add up. For many of these groups, the date that most matters to them is not Tax Day or Patriots Day or even Hitlers birthday, but the anniversary of the Waco siege (pictured below). On April 19, 1993, 76 people died when a radical, antigovernment sects compound in Texas burnt to the ground after days of firefights with federal officials. When Timothy McVeigh bombed the federal building in Oklahoma City in 1995, killing 168 people, it fell on the anniversary of the Waco raid, which he cited as a motivation for the attack.
Other members of antitax groups, who believe in a constitutional right not to pay a federal income tax, have attacked the Internal Revenue Service in previous instances. In February 2010, a man flew a small plane into the IRS building in Austin, Texas, killing himself and one other person.
In Mondays case, though, the target was not a federal building or the IRS. This bombing at the Boston Marathon, experts say, doesnt fit with the previous attacks from Patriot Movement types....

For someone reporting that it wasn’t likely domestic terrorists who bombed the marathon this writer sure sounds like he wants us to believe it was domestic terrorists who bombed the marathon.
Uhhhhhhh, could you list those? I seem to have forgotten them.
Tell you what, I'll list the Muslim attacks, and the National Journal can list the "Patriot Movement" attacks, and we'll see which list is longer ...
That and the style of bomb, pressure cookers? And a few sites are saying they think its that peroxide crap the moose-limbs use.
My thoughts exactly. And the writer cites the Southern Poverty Law Ctr......hardly an objective source.
The bombers will be whoever 0bama wants them to be. It must be a b!tch being an FBI investigator who knows the truth.
Exhibit A is the fact that the target was innocent civilians at a race, not a government facility.
Even Timothy McVeigh didn’t target the general public. Not that he seemed to be much concerned about collateral damage. Most terrorists are pretty clear about their intended targets, if only after the fact. These bombs weren’t set in the front door of the Boston federal building.
The only terrorists I am aware of who consider the general public including children to be their legitimate intended targets are the practitioners of the Religion of Peace (TM).
Patriot movements celebrate Hitler’s birthday? Sure there are wacko skinhead types that do celebrate Hitler’s birthday but they are hardly “patriot movements”. The purpose of this article is to spew bias and propaganda
Where was Bill Ayers and his whore wife Bernadette on April 15??
Prime Radical Left-Wing suspects and former perperators.
Eric Michael Rudolph is one of the few non-muslim terrorists, if not the only, I can think of who targeted civilians (excluding the civil rights era).
The m.o. used doesn’t match that of a domestic political terrorist. They would have attacked a specific target with a specific goal in mind rather than an indiscriminate target at a public event where the goal is to create terror. The Low-inormation Left is overreaching by using over sensationalism and the MSM to broadcast their propaganda over the airwaves to get the public to hate the righties. It’s all in the Alinsky handbook. Demoralize, divide, and destroy.
Just because it’s technically domestic does not mean it’s not Moslem. Dearbornistan, anyone?
BTW, please someone tell me how the much-despised “militia groups” have actually been violent? When? What incidents? Despite MSM attempts, I really cannot remember any newsworthy incidents!
So why didn't they attack a government building or government-related agency? What a bunch of hooey.
The idiot who flew the plane into the IRS was a flaming lib.
Pray for America to Wake Up
Yep. Dems play politics 24x7 and will never give it a rest even at times like this because they have no shame. Expect more non-stories like this to float the biases
Leftist extremists. Anarchists/Occupiers.
Just like those idiots who wanted to blow up a bridge in Cleveland. Why? For attention. If it was Jihadis, they’d be claiming credit for it.
Exhibit B is the fact that the bomber or bombers unknown waited until all the VIPs that were there for the first-to cross-the-finish-line photo-op had safely gone on to the next photo-op.
Even he had an issue and an intended target - abortion and abortion clinics. The Centennial Park attack was kind of a one-off for him but in his post facto claim, even that was about abortion.
The wishful thinking of the Obamites aside, tax day and the proximity to Patriots day are coincidental to the event with a large crowd, lots of media and a less experienced and effective security presence that presented the opportunity for the attackers.
