Sarah Palin Holding a Big Gulp Is the New Statue of Liberty
New York Magazine ^ | March 16, 2013 | Dan Amira

If Sarah Palin understands anything, it's the theatrics of a speech, and she can get a crowd riled up better than pretty much anyone in the GOP. That's how it went this afternoon at CPAC, where she launched a fusillade of caustic zingers at President Obama, Washington, and the professional political consultant class. At no point, however, was the packed audience louder than when Palin stuck it to the man by whipping out a Big Gulp full of "pop" (soda) from behind the podium and posing for the cameras while taking a big, freedom-loving sip.

Outside the ballroom afterward, CPAC attendees raved about the stunt. "Hilarious." "I thought that was awesome." "I loved that." One woman I spoke to said the moment "just really symbolized American freedom." A man named Tomas told me that Palin holding up the Big Gulp "gave a new look to the Statue of Liberty."(continued)

Sarah was excellent! I used to be friends with Mark Davis’ radio producer. I thought she was a Conservative, until she started professing her undying love for Bill Kristol. The final straw was this week when she criticized CPAC for having Sarah speak. De-friended on FB immediately after posting about her irrational hatred for this fine lady.

Two rum and Coke is nothing, really. If I eat a lot, I could drink 7 whiskey on the rocks, and I’m a small guy with a low alcohol tolerance.

Seven whiskeys on the rocks at 69 calories for each ounce would be 483 calories. It is surprising how fast the calories add up.

It figures that a fraud like Mark Davis would have a RINO for his show producer. I was really happy when he left WBAP.

Sorry to hear that =(.

Are any of your medical problems curable? Do they cause your sleep apnea?

I too am jealous of people who exercise, and like it, lol.

I have hypothyroid, which I treat by taking medication daily, and will continue to do so for the rest of my life. The only other thing I know I have is primary hyperparathyroid disease, which requires surgery. That one causes all the problems I have, including sleep apnea.

The gist of the disease is it’s basically a benign tumor growing out of at least one of the four parathyroid glands in the neck, causing the gland to be ‘turned on’ 24/7, when normal operation isn’t supposed to be that way. It takes calcium out of the bones and constantly sends it to the brain, causing all sorts of problems, like poor sleep, chronic physical and mental fatigue, bone and joint pain, and plenty of other things.

Because of it, I feel like an old man, and that’s no exaggeration. I’m also about as susceptible to osteoporosis as a woman in her 50s.
