By On February 12, 1988 Joe Biden underwent surgery to repair an aneurysm had done to his brain.
Blood was leaking in his brain and it required an immediate operation. His condition was so serious that he received Last Rites from a Catholic priest.
May 4, 1988 he underwent second surgery to continue the process of putting his brain back into working order.
Based on his performance in last weeks Vice Presidential debate these procedures may not have been entirely successful. Full recovery from any kind of a medical episode involving a brain aneurysm is never a sure thing.
Recovery to normal is subjective. Those who regain their physical strength and coordination can perform manual labor and might never seem the worse for the episode.
Those whose occupations require mental dexterity might not be so lucky. Nevertheless, because the brain is such a complex organ the ill effects of an aneurysm might not show up immediately they might show up gradually over the remaining the rest of the victims life.
When a victim has had such an episode there is always the possibility of the sufferer falling prey to Pseudobulbar affect (PBA), which results in emotional lability or swings in emotions that can result involuntary crying, involuntary laughing or both.
PBA can sometimes occur as a result of brain damage of the kind sustained by those who have suffered an aneurysm as
Biden did.. Those who suffer from PBA may display incongruent emotional responses. When frustrated or angry they can laugh uncontrollably.
PBA sufferers may laugh at sad news or even switch from laughing to crying after a very brief interval.

Did Boehner have one too?
This would help explain several “things” about Bidet. I always thought he was just a village/state idiot (DE), but a lingering medical condition is nothing to laugh at. Whoops, that didn’t come out right...
He was like that joke I heard. If you want to scare people, act all friggin crazy and out of control, speak irrationally and they’ll leave you alone.
but watch the media and the Democrats ignore it as they have for all these years.

On same type ‘subject’, remember a few years back when Michael J Fox took some potshots at Rush L and R came back and ‘sort of’ implied that Fox turned his Parkinsons ‘on and off’ for when it suited him....
And, if I recall, at the time (think it was early in the malady) that Fox would be lucid at times and showed up for either a Hillary Care or Obama care implying people like him would be denied ‘proper care’ if the bill DIDN’T pass, and he went into shaking fits? (I know, normal for Parkinsons but he had given a lucid speech couple of days earlier).
I also think in the ‘sniping’ that went on for a few days R also ‘kind of’ implied Fox would purposely not take his meds if it was convenient....
Ohhhh, I'm a victim
You're a victim
He's a victim
She's a victim
ODrama and Biden can both be victims too!
Biden has a brain? Who knew?
Wonder if they were implanted upside down and the hair is growing inside his brain, and it's displacing his brain cells ?
If he had a brain, he would be arrested for smuggling $hit.
Are we excusing the Doltish Uncle?
I read all the replies before posting this. Let me say that I am no fan of Biden at all., But, I did watch a c-span vid from about 1986 of a then young J. Biden attacking SOS George Schultz on US policy on S.Africa. Biden was sharp, focused, and on top of his game as he ranted and raved at Sec. Schultz over policy matters, though I am not in agreement with him then or now. It was an entirely different Biden from the fool that we see as VP. This was before his aneurism. Brain aneurism surgery was far more invasive than it is now. I say that he been affected by his surgery and should have resigned as US Senator a long time ago, rather than keep running and being re-elected by the voters of his home state.
