Prepare for What Is Coming: “There is a Very Present Danger that is Facing Every American”
SHTF Plan ^ | 8/9/12 | Charlie McGrath

Posted on 08/09/2012 5:57:27 PM PDT by Kartographer

You are under assault. There is a very present danger that is facing every American citizen who listens to me right now. Every citizen of this planet who listens to me right now. You are under attack.

This is an assault on you, the American people. This is an assault on your intelligence and an assault on your freedom.

It’s about a complete and total dismantling of a nation, a dismantling of a Constitution, and an implementation of control from on high, [from a] dominant financial authority overtaking this planet.

It’s not coincidence that Department of Homeland Security and the government in general is picking up all kinds of riot gear.

It’s because they know the collapse is coming.

They know the engineered collapse that has been papered over and caused 100 million people to be on the government dole, that has caused trillions of dollars of our future wealth being given to a bunch of bankers.

They know the day of reckoning is coming, and when it does they want 30,000 drones in the air, they want thousands of riot-ready police force on the street, and they want you bickering with your neighbor because you voted Romney, or you voted Obama.

Get it through your head, folks. If you dont’t understand it by now – time is running out rapidly. You need to understand. There is no change coming with Romney. There is no change coming in term two with Obama.

They dance to the tune of the same people who have not been prosecuted or brought to justice for destroying this planet’s economy.

There are people dying tonight because of what has happened to this economy on this planet.

LOL! Good one!

Years ago, before the mooselimbs became such a predominant problem, a friend greeted me with a birthday card that I have cherished over the years which said,

“Trust in Allah a lot....but tie up your camel!”

The situation in the Middle East is very volatile also, and could bring about this global crisis before November. I would not plan around things going critical after the election, but at any time now. But I agree otherwise, if the situation in the Middle East does not explode, then the results of the U.S. election will point either towards massive unrest or the full coming forth of partially masked authoritarian government. Conservatives will find themselves increasingly under attack, through a variety of quasi-legal means, as basically the constitutions (of more than just America) are violated repeatedly in spirit.

I also believe that there is an increasingly high probability of this becoming the prophesied “end times” and that may be the outcome of these troubles.

Whatever the details, we are all wise to prepare for bad times, yet remain open to any chance of finding a better standard of leadership that might bring back better times. People haven’t changed much but elites are grasping for more and more wealth and control, and they see most of us as wage slaves or excess baggage. What is clearly needed is the definition of new types of criminal acts and the power of the ordinary people to arrest and punish those who have performed those criminal acts. I would place economic sabotage high on that list.

Check garage sales. Some people who are relocating a long distance sell full or almost full 20 lb propane tanks for ridiculous prices. My neighbor purchases them when he finds them for under $1.00. He now has 8 almost full tanks in his storage shed. Several he purchased at garage sales for 25 cents each! He shared this information with me today. Saturday I go hunting!

"What do you purchase for heat for cooking? Sternos? Interested for a possible bad hurricane season."

That's an easy one. Just about every prepper list I've ever seen says "Coleman fuel - impossible to have too many."

These cost about $11 for four cylinders, and they last a surprisingly long time. I've got 80 of them in my basement, only taking up two shelves. Dunham's has the best price I've found. You can buy single or double burners to go with them, and even a heater attachment.

Also buy a couple of extra tanks for your gas BBQ grill. I have five of those.

What we will see is a much more violent version of Argentina, something I think much closer to Bosnia. American has become Balkanized and splintered, we no longer share the same basic beliefs we have become pocks of people with little in common with one another.

I agree in general, but Balkanization had 500 of history behind it. The Balkans is where you've known your 90 year old neighbor your whole life but one day you give her five minutes to pack, then burn down her house. Here the moochers will burn just down the store after they loot it. Then they'll think about burning a neighborhood or two but they'll think twice after a couple of them get shot dead.

"I will work on expanding barter items next."

May I ask what items you've got in mind for barter? I've got a few things going but looking for other ideas. Thought about cigs, but I don't smoke, and I feel strongly that you should only hoard something you can use later if S does not HTF (see what I did there?).

wasting a vote?

Not really, his home page says Texas. I checked because here in Virginia I have to vote for Romney.

” May I ask what items you’ve got in mind for barter? “

Coffee
Sugar
Chocolate and hard candy
Toilet Paper
Salt and spices
Seeds appropriate for your area
Cast Iron and/or Camping cooking pots/pans/utensils; firewood and cooking grates/oven shelves (yard sales and thift stores are a good source)
Hand Tools - for craft and building, and for gardening/farming..
Buckets and Pails
Greases and Lubricants
Books

Thanks for sharing that. I’m trying to stick with smaller items (for storage reasons), but coffee, sugar, salt, spices, seeds are all good suggestions. I’ve got liquor and wine and a few other things as of now, but I need more.

Someone also mentioned on another thread to have small bills and change saved up. May not help if the currency collapses, but I’m doing it anyhow. Not everything we do will work out as planned or be necessary, but I’m doing everything I can that makes sense to me.

A thought - consumables you buy in bulk don’t necessarily need to be traded/barted in bulk...

If you’re planning on bartering, include in your preparations a beam scale and measuring devices, and a good supply of sandwich-sized ziplock bags...

I’ve been contemplating spending the $160 on a Deadwood Stove. All the online reviews and videos I’ve seen on it look like it’s a good little piece of equipment.

We recently lost the power here for a bit, and it gave me a chance to see how well my preps will serve. I’ve got a small coleman gas grill and about 3 dozen cans of gas for it, but boiling a big pot of water on it seemed like a waste of fuel, because so much heat escapes.

The deadwood stove has a burner on the top that’s the perfect size for a standard kettle, so you’re not losing any heat energy. Plus, it burns hot on just a few pieces of scrap wood, so having a supply of burn fuel for it seems pretty easy. And, if needs be, I can use it inside the garage with just some minor ventilation - so no risk of grilling outside and drawing attention should the SHTF scenario be overly dangerous.

Still, I’d use the gas grill for cooking meats, etc - things that can cover the entire grill surface to maximize the heat being put out.

I think it’s important to have a couple of options.
