As a (very) small businessman my blood boils every time I hear that quote from Obama. Given the number of self-employed people in this country, that ad (trimmed to one minute) and played during a major event like the World Series (or some television event where much of the country tunes in) would be a gut punch to that marxist twerp.
If Romney keeps with the “It’s Time to Rebuild” slogan, this election is OVER, and he walks away with it.
It’s a really powerful phrase - as it implies that President Obama was (or is) waging war on America.

You mean he’s giving Cruz a break. I thought the Dewhurst bunch was about to put antennas on Cruz and claim he’s an alien.
As to this ad - lip service is sure nice, but when Arizona and Alabama are actually passing laws to crack down on Illegals and Dewhurst is being Governor Perry’s bitch in the Senate and BLOCKING the same attempts, I don’t think the ad carries much weight.

You can’t really run a very positive ad if you’re challenging an incumbent. I mean, would “Morning in America” work for Romney, now - I don’t think so. The key is to connect to the little people, and he’s done that. I do hope there’s a Spanish version of it too, as Hispanics have a tendency to operate lots of small businesses and work their tails off - it would be VERY EFFECTIVE.

LOCALIZE the ad to run in each individual market! Find a well-respected LOCAL small businessman or woman (minorities welcome) and splice in their comments! Then run that ad in each TV market. Do it!

...and if the business can have a wide enough reach in its community, that’s even better (i.e., having a guy that machines ball bearings probably doesn’t mean as much as a guy that runs an honest auto repair business [assuming that they can find one, LOL]).
It is the first doohurst ad that I have seen where he is not ragging on Cruz with half truths and outright lies. People who have not been paying attention will be impressed.

You need to get better in touch with Mr. Dewhurst.
In the last two days I have not heard or seen a negative ad from Dewhurst against Cruz and the new ones focused totally on what he would do on certain issues. Understand he also finally agreed to the last debate with Cruz on Monday. Would suspect that someone on his team finally got the message about what all the negativity was doing to his ratings.
Interesting about beefing up the border security in Texas. He has been in office down here a long time and in a position to take steps to close and secure our borders long before now. Why don’t we have mandatory E-verify for all businesses? Why do we spend so much of our Texas money on benefits for illegals and anchor babies? Why do we have so many more ESL classes in our public schools? Why are all the largest cities solid sanctuary cities? Why hasn’t he already done something about these issues?
But it all matters not because those of us in Texas who pay attention have already seen and know who the real Dewhurst is and know what he has not accomplished while in office here and will vote for Cruz.
I have already voted for Cruz once and I plan to vote for him again next week and then again in Nov. Pretty solid proof that I am not a doohurts fan.
