I am becoming concerned about Butterdezillion. Her blog has been inactive for nearly three weeks, which seems unlike her.
I'd bet a meal on it.

I’m OK, and thank you for your concern. I had a 3-week-long bout with salmonella that set me behind on some big projects I’ve been working on, and we’ve been having stress at home figuring out finances for my daughter’s college which she starts in a month. So I’ve been sort of AWOL from my blog. But I’m OK and will get to the comments hopefully tomorrow.
I did some checking regarding one of the links given in a comment and it led me to look into some other stuff too. One of the saddest things is that the people who post stuff that leads me to more research usually have no idea of the good caused by their contribution because I’m so busy looking farther that I forget to tell them how helpful their input was. If your comment was the one giving a link, the checking I did on that led to other research as well and then I didn’t (yet) get back to you on your original comment. I apologize, and hopefully soon I’ll be able to post about what that led me to.
Way to easy to spot. We luv our Butteredzillion and know most of the posters who interact on her posts.

Welcome nOOb...
“Hesperado” song based on lyrics from Eagles song, “Desperado”
“Desperado”
Hesperado, why don’t you come to your senses?
You been out ridin’ fences for so long now
Oh, you’re a hard one
I know that you got your reasons
These things that are pleasin’ you
Can hurt you somehow
Don’t you draw the queen of diamonds, boy
She’ll beat you if she’s able
You know the queen of hearts is always your best bet
Now it seems to me, some fine things
Have been laid upon your table
But you only want the ones that you can’t get
Hesperado, oh, you ain’t gettin’ no younger
Your pain and your hunger, they’re drivin’ you home
And freedom, oh freedom well, that’s just some people talkin’
Your prison is walking through this world all alone
Don’t your feet get cold in the winter time?
The sky won’t snow and the sun won’t shine
It’s hard to tell the night time from the day
You’re losin’ all your highs and lows
Ain’t it funny how the feeling goes away?
Hesperado, why don’t you come to your senses?
Come down from your fences, open the gate
It may be rainin’, but there’s a rainbow above you
You better let somebody love you, before it’s too late
LOLOLOL
So funny!
That tune came to mind when I saw his 1st post.

OT:
I was dismayed to learn Conservative writer, Rich Carroll has died.
I had written Rich a fan letter several years ago after reading some of his articles. He was kind enough to reply and we struck up a correspondence. He even sent me a copy of one of his books.
A few months ago, I became concerned that he no longer answered his emails, did some research and came across this:
Smith, Richard C.
Richard Carroll Smith, age 63 of Scottsdale, Az. went to God’s Loving Arms Tuesday, March 20, 2012. He is survived by his loving wife Mary, their sons Adam and Ryan (wife Holly) and grandson Hudson Carroll. Richard was a Vietnam Veteran and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal of Commendation. His life will be celebrated and his ashes laid to rest in Keller, Texas.

Rich is the author of books, ‘Terrorist’s Crossing’ and ‘Orphan Heroes’ and ‘In a Dangerous Place’ as well as blistering articles on Obama such as Jihad Candidate, Jihad Candidate 2, Another Obamination; Our Southern border (http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/2750049/posts)
and many blistering attacks on Islam.
Unable to find anything about his death on the net.
Nothing.
This is most unusual for a well know writer and decorated Viet Nam vet.
I know he had mentioned receiving hate mail and threats on his life.
Can some of you expert researchers maybe find out some info for me?
I hope he didn’t end up like Donald Young or some muzzie savage got to him.

Good to hear you’re recovering.
Good to hear from you and that you’re still at it—this headline had me worried for a minute!
Just a quick note before I head off to work.
One of the protections offered by using your real-life name is that people can find out if something happens to you. That’s why Larry Sinclair isn’t dead yet. I’ve thought about making sure my husband knows how to log on to Free Republic in my name so that if anything really serious happened to me he could post to let people know. I’m afraid to ask him to do that because he’s already worried about me being targeted because of what he’s seen with my communications being intercepted. There are a couple things in real life that he doesn’t realize could be connected to what I’m doing, and I don’t want to worry him more, especially since I can’t prove anything about that anyway.
So a lot of the protective power is the people who know me, watch whether I’m responding, and can find out if anything has happened to me. Can you believe that as connected as Kam Kuwata was (he planned the whole 2008 DNC Convention, for crying out loud!) he laid dead in his house for at least a couple weeks before somebody noticed he was missing? And then LE instantly declared it a death of natural causes (jetlag, I think they said) without there being any autopsy. Right after he had fought hard against Obama’s chosen candidate for CA AG, Kamala Harris. The whole thing stunk to high heaven. Democrat insiders believe it was a hit job, and it probably was. But nobody reported him missing for at least 2 weeks. Wow.
I am really thankful for the people who are watching out for the safety of their fellow conservatives (and fellow man, actually). Only the Lord knows their reasons for doing so, and there’s always the possibility of them being stalkers - which is a reminder that we need to be careful what details we post publicly. But the whole idea of “I got your back” is what keeps our military together against the enemy, and it’s also critical in the battle against the lawless thugs in this administration.
I love you guys here at Free Republic, and I am so thankful that you’ve got my back.
Let’s roll.
Thank you for your input.
Did you know Rich Carroll (Richard Carroll Smith)?
Are you familiar with his work?
Do you think it’s possible that Obama goons or Islamists got to him?
Does anyone know what happened to Danae?
I’m not familiar with him, but I put nothing past either Obama’s goons or the Islamists - particularly since they seem to be working together these days.
How did he die? It is odd that there was nothing online about his death. You’d think there’d be some kind of obituary, blog article, or something.
I can find nothing about how he died- only the obit I posted previously.
He did mention that he had had death threats (due to his blistering pieces on Obama and Islam.)
Yes, I find it very strange that there is nothing more on his death, since he was a well known author, columnist and a highly decorated Viet Nam war vet.
I fear someone got to him.
We have lost a great patriot.
I always picture her buttering up lots of biscuits.
I know I’ve buttered a zillion myself. We like them
a lot for breakfast.
Richard Carroll Smith, AKA Saberpen, lost his life to cancer. He believed it related to his exposure to toxins in Vietnam. The cancer hit fast and it hit hard.
Not long after Rich’s death, his friend Jim ‘Joabba’ Alford lost his own battle with cancer. If the name sounds familiar, it is likely because you read Orphaned Heroes... it is dedicated to Jim.
Thank you for remembering my friend. I wonder how how he would feel about his predictions on terrorism unfolding just the way he expected. Dang, I miss him.
* I’ve made a memorial on FindAGrave if you wish to leave a memorial note.
