On Saturday, the Constitution Party nominated Virgil Goode, a former U.S. House member from Virginia, as its presidential candidate. He won the nomination on the first ballot with 203 out of 403 delegates. He defeated Darrell Castle of Tennessee, national vice chairman of the Constitution Party; Susan Ducey, a constitutional activist from Kansas; Laurie Roth, of Washington, a columnist and talk show host; and Robby Carr Wells of North Carolina, a former NCAA Division I football coach at Savannah State University. The final vote total was Goode 203, Castle 120, Wells 58, Ducey 15, Roth 6. Jim Clymer, the national chairman of the Constitution Party, was selected as the vice-presidential nominee.

I voted Newt in Fl. Doesn’t seem to matter anymore.... I still want my conservative dammit.
I’ll seriously consider voting for Goode. I’m thoroughly displeased with the GOP nominee. I feel like voting for Romney sends the message to the GOP that we’re OK with the GOP not being a conservative party, and I’m NOT OK with that.
Calling someone a “newb” does not an intelligent argument make. The rest of your post is laughable and smacks of serious denial. Newt just dropped out. Of course Romney will have the delegates. Everyone but a few people on the internet know that.
YOU HAVE to be A LIBERAL democrat to vote for mitt.
Reality? Like a pro homo, baby killing, socialistic form of healthcare candidate on a GOP ticket?
The only reason I vote for Romney is that I do feel he half way likes his country. I can’t stand Obama at national patriotic events with his sourpuss face about having to be there and open disdain for all things great about the USA. But I may not vote for the Mormon after all . . .
There has been something wrong with every candidate according to posters on this board, so given what I have read here over the last couple of years, I’ve no doubt this Goode guy has something wrong with him that would disqualify him after being hailed for a few days.
Constitution Party is a joke, plain and simple, and no closer to winning an election than Rent is too damn high Party. And people not voting, voting for Virgil Goode, or writing in Sarah Palin (who clearly has no desire to be POTUS) will not somehow bring us to depths that will lead to a magical conservative uprising that will have “true” conservatives running the show someday. All pouting because your ideal conservative (who must be mythical like the unicorn) will do is guarantee us having to live through 4 more years of the worst POTUS in the history of this country.
And no one will thank you for standing your ground waiting for candidate that clearly does not exist.
Im voting for Goods too! We have some time for a grass roofs effort if people would quit supporting Mitt all of a sudden. The lesser of two evils I understand. But I believe in ALL of Goodes positions. Bring it!
Did you hear with your own ears that Newt dropped out?
I’m betting you are a propaganda pablum eater.
How cute - did you think you would fool anyone with your screen name, NEWBIE/retread!
So your saying we should vote for the gun grabbing, pro-abortion (don’t give me that “he’s seen the light BS) god father of Obamacare?
I have standards, morals and values. NONE of them line up with Romney.
So.. Why should I vote for him? (WITH OUT MENTIONING OBAMA AND OBAMA’S PLANS/RECORDS)
Why?
You could bring up the SCOTUS but I suspect Romney would give us liberals based on his record. So as I see it, the court is lost either way. With Obama at least the republicans can bottle up the nomination in the senate if they take it. And I doubt they will because Romney has no coattails.
How many uncontested delegates does Romney currently have? Exactly?
You claim Romney will win in November over Obama. I say he won't. History is on my side.
Tell me in November, if you are still here.
I won't vote for Romney. Ever.
/johnny
I saw Romneys speech last night. He can and will win.
Obama gives a good speech too.. Your point is?
Lets look at his record. That is what should be what shows us what Mitt really is..
I’m wearing flame-retardent clothes and prepared for the pings. The “I Won’t Sacrifice My Values” crowd won’t deter me from voting in such a way as to not sacrifice my country to Obozo and his thugs.
The GOP just keeps moving left.
/johnny
The problem is, the GOP is too damn high up the rats asses. Why are conservatives such wusses? We sit at home reloading talking on our computers why libs have head hunts and sit ins? What is breaking point for us? Four more years of a sleazy car salesman or an radical that is putting his feet on OUR desk. Enough is enough. We need to rethink this. Or are we too polite??
Oh, and I will vote for Newt in the CA primary, despite his not running.
there is a tipping point. the problem for many of us is we are the productive class.
that means you, me and most everyone here has full time jobs. Heck, I have 2 (ya. I am a greedy SOB.)
Does not leave much time to stage a sit in or go on a ‘head hunt’..
I attend what I have to, but I have business debt to dig out from under and kids to take care of. I post here on my breaks.
And that’s the truth! I work two jobs and and working on an am MBA. Just a little hot tonight. I don’t like where this is going and why and who is steering it. Im tired. I don’t know if that’s the goal or not, but im getting a little agitated.
It does matter - you didn’t bow to evil.
Clean hands are priceless and Newt can stand tall with his patriotic fighting spirit amidst enemies/evil on his every side trying to bring him down. We did right, we chose wisely, we will never regret it.
If Uhbamuh wins this time, we will take a significant step closer to being what every country in Europe already is. Labor and Tories. Liberal and not so liberal. And no, we are not yet at that point.
We are far from any kind of revolt as has been posted about numerous times on this board. The decision for me is simple. Will the people that I support be in a position to influence the GOP candidate or the Phlegmocrat candidate after the election is done? There is no question our chances of having some kind of influence with Romney are far greater than they will ever be with Uhbamuh.
