1—Shotguns are legal.
2-No self defence is not a guilty till innocent crime here, this is a myth that British freepers have had to explain and shoot down so many times I have lost count. BTW I myself am a 2008 victim of burglary and assault, which involved me using self-defence, so I have first hand knowledge.
3—Utter drivel. Mr Choudray is a nutter who makes headlines, but the idea he has any power over the British Muslim population outside his tiny following, let alone the 62 million British nation is complete nonsense.

Many Americans seem to simply confuse the UK being at times too PC with Muslims somehow running Britain.
95% of the UK is non-Muslim. 92-93% is white. Muslims have no major power in politics, business and in any major field in the UK. The idea that they run Britain is complete drivel. Shouted by people who have not been here. Honestly, if anyone here actually spent any time here, theyd quickly see that the Muslims dont run the UK, and never will.

Okay Scotsman but some of my extended family who are Brits recently visited Birmingham (they live in Newcastle) and they said much of Birmingham was like being in the Middle East. I don’t think you can shrug off the numbers, the arrogance, and the culture that is gaining more and more traction in Western countries.

My “ignorance” will cost me but little in the general scheme of life here in the “colonies”, as yes, I rather do enjoy life on this side of the pond. Not nearly as many surveillance cameras here. “1984” was a British novel, as I recall.

The Govt doesnt regulate kitchen knives!. I think you are confusing them with a group of doctors (who deal with serious knife wounds, remember we kill and maim with knives here as opposed to guns) who argued a couple of years ago for knife licensing and restrictions. They were ignored, but people here seem to think there are restrictions now. The only laws on knives are on the ability of under 16’s to buy them. As has always been the case.
And your hahal point is utter nonsense. British butcher shops do not ‘have to sell’ halal meat. Utter nonsense.

As to self-defence, again, its a myth that Brits arent allowed to defend themselves. People here have focused on a tiny amount of cases where people went beyond the reasonable limits of self-defence (in the courts eyes), like the Muslim man who chased a burglar for a mile, had him held down, and ran over him in his car. Or because it is standard British police practice to ‘arrest’ everyone at the scene of a death during a ‘home invasion’, people here who are American think that means the homeowner isnt allowed to defend themselves. What actually happens is that if a burglar is killed, everyone gets carted off to the police station. WHAT gets ignored here is that in the rare cases where a burglar is killed, the houseowners are usually released within hours as soon as the facts of the case are established.
We British are allowed to defend ourselves. In fact, the laws have been strengthened IN FAVOUR of the homeowner since 2007, and we now have even more leeway in what constitutes self defence. British laws basically allow you carte blanche as long as it was within home boundaries and you had no alternative but to kill him.
As to my own incident, the burglar was a junkie. A WHITE junkie. Your Muslim obsession is bizarre. My junkie burglar probably wouldnt know what a Muslim is. Scum of the lowest order. He got ‘done’ for nine burglaries or attempted burglaries, inc mine, and assault on me and attempted assault on my brother and father. He got 44 months (3yrs 8m) all in.
He is currently on remand for attempted murder, as he was just five weeks out of prison, and he and two mates tried to murder an ‘enemy’ with knives, stabbing the man in the neck. Clearly three and a half years in prison didnt make the idiot think.

As a yank who lives in the UK, I can support what you say 100%. It’s depressing the number of Freepers who buy into the hyperbole sold by fear mongers.
There’s more nudity, more booze, more drugs and more pork than ever before in the UK but, somehow, Choudry is the most powerful man in the UK.... go figure.
Birmingham is an area which has had high immigration since ww2. It was black Caribbean in the 50’s and 60’s, Asian immigration from the 60’s onwards. Not purely Muslim, but plenty of Hindus and Sikhs.
But that dosent mean the UK is like that everywhere. Anymore than the whole of the US is like NY or Miami.

You are allowed them at home as long as you have a safe cabinet. You dont have to keep them at a gun club, thats only if you dont or refuse to keep them in a safe and locked cabinet.
