Current TV said Friday afternoon that it had terminated the contract of its lead anchor Keith Olbermann, scarcely one year after he was hired to reboot the fledgling channel in his progressive political image.
Mr. Olbermann did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Current indicated that he had failed to honor the terms of his five-year, $50 million contract, giving the channel the right to terminate it.
In a letter to viewers, the channel said Friday, We created Current to give voice to those Americans who refuse to rely on corporate-controlled media and are seeking an authentic progressive outlet. We are more committed to those goals today than ever before. Current was also founded on the values of respect, openness, collegiality, and loyalty to our viewers. Unfortunately these values are no longer reflected in our relationship with Keith Olbermann and we have ended it.

Maybe he can find work in Canada?
They should have hired the horse-faced Mr. Ed.
Air America
Even the commie media doesn’t want him.
Well, being on Current TV takes hell out of the equation...good question!
oh my......yet.....LOL!
$50 million to be an ignorant clown.
He probably tick them off somehow did he throw diva fit after one of primary LOL!
He was also fired unceremoniously.
I've got plenty of room in my septic tank!
PS: Dear Keith -
When you are paying a demented Leftist $50 million for a viewership of 10 people you know the people paying him are insane in the membrain(sic), too!
ROTFL!!! Well Keith! There is always that “fries guy” job! Heh heh heh.
Imagine what an incredible @#$%^ this guy must be to get fired from a no viewer cable TV channel.
It’s like getting fired from collage radio !
I think he goes back to MSNBC. The hour with Al Sharpton is an absolute zero. Then you look at the numbers with Lawrence O’Donnell which is pretty low. Keith needs to walk in and say he’ll work for almost nothing in the beginning to prove that he can bring the numbers back up....and then if he succeeds....get a real salary plus-up.
If that doesn’t happen....then I think he ends up on Dancing with the Stars.
Mitt Romney’s campaign, maybe? I’m sure Olbermann would have no trouble working with a self-described progressive.
