Billion-Dollar Obama Machine Would Cut Santorum to Ribbons
Reaganite Republican ^ | February 16, 2012 | Reaganite Republican

Cutting-to-the-chase, Rick Santorum is a very weak and uncharismatic candidate, one who was almost completely ignored until all more savory choices where destroyed in Romney/PAC/MSM/negative attacks. Basically, he’s still here because nobody bothered to even look at him, let alone slander. Much like Obama, he's become a 'blank slate' that allows people to see what they want to see... but why delude yourself out of some false sense of necessity?

With his hollow record of accomplishment, zero leadership experience, whining demeanor, and loser’s aura in the wake of getting trounced by 19 pts last time out (as an incumbent!), Obama will simply paint him a nosy church-lady and intolerant kook as he CUTS HIM TO SHREDS in November.

Since the Left would love for Santorum to be the nominee, you’re not hearing a peep from them- yet.  But the the progs would have a field-day with Ricky, given the chance. Obama himself plans a billion dollar campaign... most of it negative, sure as you're born.

And as noted by VodkaPundit, Santorum does like to pontificate on almost any topic you care to serve-up, and therein lies another problem: Ramblin' Rick doesn't seem able to stay on-message -or really to even have one: a walking, talking disaster in the presidential election (even worse if he managed to find his way to the Oval Office).

All I know is this: I didn’t just fight for three years, day-in-and-day-out just to hook up my wagon to a lame nag like this... rather go to a brokered convention and beg Palin to run.

Never thought I'd miss Bachmann and Perry so much either... WHY did they even pack it in and hand so much to Santorum? Either would have been far more preferable from where I'm standing.

If Newt’s third comeback (pending) doesn’t materialize in time, maybe we can get somebody else to step up in Orlando… but no Santorum, please.

Santorum has plenty of record in the Senate, anyone interested can look it up; he was a pretty straight arrow social and "compassionate" conservative.

There. Fixed it for you.

re: “Many have been here far more than a decade and have been fighting this war against godless communism for that long or longer.

Rather than impugn motive due to your emotional reaction, why not engage on the merits, or lack thereof, of their arguments?”

You may be correct about these people being true conservatives, but what brings me to near despair is how conservatives turn on one another at the drop of a hat. We rip to shreds all the candidates - none are acceptable - none can win - we are doomed.

The four guys left are what we have to choose from (barring some kind of brokered event at the convention which is highly unlikely). I don’t particularly get excited about any of them - but, I sure as hell am not going to just let Obama waltz in for a second term.

I am so sick and tired of these threads where whichever candidate is up and coming that particular week, is blasted as being “a loser” and “can’t possibly win against Obama”. Lord in Heaven above!! We truly are sunk if we can’t quit carping among ourselves.

Some of the “conservatives” on here are every bit as hateful and virulent as any leftest I’ve had to debate. We’ve got to unify against Obama. I truly believe that the majority of the country reject Obama’s agenda, but if we don’t keep the focus on him and his administration and allow them to control the debate - we ARE sunk.

The Tea Party took the country by storm because they took control of the political conversation - their message is loud and clear - We’ve had enough of being taxed to death, regulated to death, uncontrolled growth of spending and governmental intrusion into our business, private, even religious lives! Most Americans want the Constitution to be respected and have responded to the all out attack on it by Obama and the Dems.

Make that the focus of our debate - how to communicate that best to America as a whole, not how “unqualified” or unelectable this guy or that guy is. Just sayin.

No one is selling you anything. Go research Santorum for yourself.

Just remember, decent men don’t exploit a sick, disabled daughter for poltical gain. Santorum has, more than once.

I’m not working for anyone, and may not have posted anything in the last 24 hours. But that’s pretty close to what I’ve been saying about Santorum for a least a few weeks.

I was big for Cain, and now think Newt is the right choice. He’s the only one of the three leaders who has shown any ability to go around the MSM. This is crucial.

LOL! If you want to “unify” this mess they call the “CONservative base”, call a good Cat Herder, no, call the world greatest Cat Herder in all of history! But you will still end up disappointed. (Oh well, it is what it is.)

How did this guy win in 2 different Dem congress districts and twice in a Democratic state if he is so terrible.

Probably by pandering to Democrats, such as with his absurd opposition to Right to Work...

When Santorum speaks he needs to show more emotion and anger at what Obama is doing to our country. He needs to get fired up.

“Obama doesn’t have a billion dollars.”

Yes, everyone keeps throwing this around so much as if it is fact. Where has this been reported as fact? It smacks of psychological warfare to me.

They will attack ANY candidate with the same ferocity as they will Santorum. Our question that we must answer is whether we will fight for principle, or surrender before the first shot is fired. It will help mightily in a dire struggle to have a candidate that it’s worth fighting FOR. And that’s Rick Santorum. Bob

Sorry, I don’t see it that way. At all. I see all the things listed that he voted for, but, compared to the rest of the field, he’s the best. Just my opinion, go ahead and have yours, it’s ok!

And BTW, that (I ain’t buyin what you’re sellin) is just an expression, you don’t have to go all hyper-technical (Even though Algore originated that line, I think it’s hilarious and use it often) LOL

That sounds familiar, oh yes, it was originally used by Romney, the old "I had to vote liberal because I came from a Liberal state that elected me because I was, well....um,,,.....liberal.
