People all over the world are reporting they are hearing strange sounds and recording them on video. A compilation of these separate incidents has been uploaded to YouTube, and one fact is chillingly clear.
Whatever these unearthly noises are, they all sound similar, and are, so far, unexplained.
It's easy to say that these strange sounds, sometimes extremely loud, and other times seemingly far off, are the product of a hoax.
But their similarity to each other, and the fact they have been recorded in so many diverse areas of the world, leads one to believe that such a hoax is impossible to coordinate.
In the past, supernatural events, such as UFO sightings, have been largely visual in nature and reported as such. It's only in the last few weeks that this phenomenon of strange sounds has begun to be reported and discussed.
Commenters on the video, numbering in the thousands, are in three basic camps; those who scoff and explain it away as a hoax; those who attribute the weird noises to Hollywood movie soundtracks; and those who claim to have heard the noises themselves.
It is this latter group which is claiming that the strange sounds are similar to each other and therefore not a natural occurrence.
Here's the video:

What do you think? How can this new, spooky phenomenon be explained?

My daughter has heard this here in Fairfax, Virginia. I got the YouTube video from someone on FB and I was playing it and my daughter was listening to it. She told me, “I don’t want to freak you out, but I’ve heard this!” We live in a huge apartment complex where there is an identical building being built next door and there is a huge crane on it. She heard the sound at night and she thought it was the wind moving the crane. I told her that the crane most probably has to be secured and not able to be moved by the wind or it would be unsafe. She and I are both a bit freaked now. I told her if she hears it again to come and wake me!
In the youtube snippets I heard, what came to mind was And what rough beast, its hour come round at last, Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?
I noted birds were alarmed.
Gonna spend some time on this tomorrow.
Here is that Reddit thread I was referring to yesterday.
At least a 5 or 10 ton truck, not an automobile or pick-up. There was no such vehicle anywhere near my apartment building and the ground wasn’t soggy.
What do you think it is? All the people filming it see/hear the sound coming from the sky, not the earth, as you see them constantly scanning above the treeline or horizon in their filmtaking.
Again, the birds’ response of alarm, and some dogs, too, don’t point to an earthscraper D9 or any auger-type drilling machine.
The rhythmic aspect makes me wonder about atmospheric lows spiraling down, as the sounds are somewhat like a tornado sounds like, on a much larger scale. That would also explain the videographers looking to the sky for the source of the noise.
Also, as pointed out in the reddit link, several of those videos are FAKE. Outright, flat out, fake.
Steam plants, manufacturing facilities, construction equipment, even drilling platform noise carrying over the water echoing between the water and the clouds...
The Trumpets of Heaven heralding the End of All Things? ET finally phoning home? Unlikely...

I thought it might be a hoax until I heard them myself: the night of January 21. I live on the Hudson River in NYC. The sounds seemed like they were coming from the south of where I was. Someone briefly set off a fire department alarm across the river—I think probably to wake people up so they could witness this.
The sounds were nothing like what was in that movie. If I found out they were the trumpets of God and the dead rising from their graves, I would not be surprised. They had those two components.
If it’s a hoax, it’s not a video hoax.
Very probable.
Someone mentioned a shofar. That described one part of it very well: an extremely loud shofar. But with more resonance, like an orchestra of shofars.
I can’t afford a minicassette recorder with a built-in mic. LOL
Mini cassette?
