I figure we can secede. We’d have 30 to 35 states for sure.

The overwhelming number of us have to stay and make a stand.
Out near Booth, Texas is a bronze marker that marks a spot where 60 original Texas settlers from Alabama established an early community.
I am surprised no one has mentioned the fact that they have already made the cost of doing so prohibitive. Better think twice about heading to a country with a higher cost of living. You will be paying twice. Uncle Sugar wants his piece and you will forfeit half your money if you leave. You will still be liable for taxes too. Can’t really see how that is better than staying.
Besides, when the US catches a cold the rest of the world gets the flu. What do you think it will be like in other countries when the US has stage 4 cancer? I think all this conjecture about places to avoid the inevitable is an exercise in delusionary self gratification. It’s gonna suck everywhere.
Second that.
American Samoa. Excellent climate and abundant fish and breadfruit, and most of the locals have moved north to become extras on Hawaii Five O.
I second our opinion. If the left prevails we will add to the 150 million killed by lftist gogernments of their own citizens. I want equality, at least 150 million leftists sent to Hell.
I have a friend who is getting ready to move just outside of Los Angeles. I am very concerned for him, his wife, and their daughter, but it is a done deal so all I can do is pray that nothing happens. If the Schumer does hit the fan, I hope that they are able to get out in time. I don't know if they can get halfway across the country during such a crisis (his wife works for UPS so hopefully they can hitch a ride on a flight heading to the Louisville hub, where she currently works), but I'll keep a spare bedroom handy in case they can.
“Remember, Sam Houston went there during the Civil War. He opposed that war and was not very popular in Texas at the time.”
Are you sure? He was a Unionist and opposed the War, but he lived in Texas at the time and died there in 1863. He had lived in Indian Territory, Oklahoma, back in 1829.
I wouldnt leave the US, but I often fantasize about heading for a sparsely-populated area. North Dakota comes to mind.

I was raised in North Dakota and my parents, who are in their 80’s, still live in on their rural farm home where I grew up. It has plenty of excellent farmland to raise food. Bountiful hunting is commonplace. The oil boom has helped their economy to be one of the best in the U.S. The people are patriotic, own guns and don’t put up with law breakers. That’s where I’m going if society breaks down completely.
KS
What would you use for fuel in the winter in a SHTF scenario there? My parents met in No Dak in the USAF, but neither is from there so they found the winter weather to be a little too intense.
Tenneessee is known to this day as The Volunteer State due to the large number of tenneesseans who volunteered and fought for Texas independence.
Sam had an sore on his stomach that wouldn't heal and they say he stank to 'high heaven' because of it. It is claimed that he left Tenneessee (in shame) after his wife left him...some say because of the smell.
Europe? They will revert to eating each other every ten years or so. No thanks.
Central America? I was just down there. It’s already a s-hole. On our worst post apocalypse day, it would not be worse than the malaria cess pools that I saw.
Asia? I don’t like rice. Next.
Australia? Every single person that I know that went there on vacation, spent the next few years trying to go back . So may be an option.
South America? I don’t honk I could get used to the water going backwards.
Africa? See Central America.
So I will just go back to the Northeast Kingdom, cut some wood and hunt some deer. Trade for some milk and cheese and grow some spuds.
They are good folks up there. No need to run away when the heart of America is not that far away.
Any towns you’d recommend? I’d especially like to find a place that’s not completely flat. Flat creeps me out.
This doomsday scenario assumes a false premise that we either all stand or we all fall. The current lawsuit against Obamacare by 26 states is showing us that states rights and those who support conservatism will ultimately win this disastrous situation. Will the union fall? If we continue on this path and Obama stays in power, who knows? We do know that the top 10% of our workforce pays 70% of the federal income tax, and states like Texas and Oklahoma and the bulk of the solid south are carrying their weight.
Whether the union as we know it survives our unconstitutional liberal policies, there will be a culture in North America that will ultimately survive and thrive. This is why the left is so terrified of the Tea Party. The Tea Party culture will survive, and the parasites of our country know that they can’t survive without us. People of character instinctively will fight and conquer these problems. The Obama culture is weak, parasitic and unaccountable for anything of importance. They will not survive this unless they change their thinking, or simply submit out of their own fears.
Many people have various coal, woodburning and corn stoves to completely heat or supplement their home heating. Contrary to popular belief, North Dakota does has plenty of existing trees to obtain firewood. You may have to go a couple miles to get it but it is there for the taking.
Ditto!
