This is really interesting:
An adviser to Mitt Romneys presidential campaign says in a new book that the campaign was not happy to see former Godfathers Pizza CEO Herman Cains campaign rocked by allegations of inappropriate behavior dating back to the 1990s.
We didnt want [opposition research] on him coming out. We wanted him to stay where he is. He keeps Perry down, the anonymous aide said, referencing Texas Gov. Rick Perry.
The comments were reported in the new e-book, The Right Fights Back, which chronicles the 2012 Republican presidential race so far
Even when Cain polled high, Romney never made an effort to attack him, likely because he never saw the former businessman as a real threat. On the other hand, Romney clearly sees Perry as a threat to his campaign, as evidenced by his constant attacks on the Texas governor.
Rick Perry does have all the money, organization, and endorsements that Newt Gingrich lacks. And he has been spending a lot of that money in Iowa running positive ads (in preparation for a huge negative ad campaign reportedly to be focused on Romney and Gingrich). Romney still sees something in Perry that makes him wary of the Texan.
Thanks for the tweeking. I intend to post those words often.
Some Perrybot posted that I should “stop drooling on my shoes”. Did not dispute the facts. Obviously I touched a nerve that novacaine can’t dull. Kind of like,I hope, nails scratching on a blackboard.
Liz, you’re welcome to use and improve anything I write. Those b****** killed my candidate. I would very much like to help put the last nails in Perry’s coffin.
I used the crossdresser description because I intend to play off it as we go along. Sort of like the old “you can take the lipstick off the Pig...” line.
The Perrybots are really nasty folks. It will be fun turning the tables on them.
Also, I was wondering about Perry’s past. A guy with an outsized ego like him is bound to have some skeletons in the closet. Surely somebody in Texas must have something on the guy. No?
Ah, I’m sorry, what was the sexual inuendo? In any case, what word would you suggest I use for a person I believe pretends to be something other than he is? I’d be happy to substitute any word you deem satisfactory.
And please spare you’re faux outrage and holier than thou rhetoric.
Liz—The Perrybots are after us. I don’t believe they have a case, but time will tell.
Cain is history. Moving on.
Cain is history. Moving on.
Move ‘em on, head’ em up
Head ‘em up, move’ em on
Move ‘em on, head’ em up
Cut ‘em out, ride ‘em in
Ride ‘em in, cut ‘em out
Call ‘em out, ride ‘em in
Keep moving, moving, moving
Though they’re disapproving
Keep them doggies moving
Dool the drooling fool strikes again! LOL!
Not at all, but touched? Yes, I'd say you are. In the head. :)
Excellent post. Brilliant warrior! :)
Slow and easy does it.
There is wisdom in those words, although an occasional quick thrust can provide a diversion. :)
And most of all, we truly must beat Obama, which is why I cannot support Perry at this time. He is too polarizing and considered too incompetent to win against Obama.
Too incompetent to win against the incompetent community organizer??
Yeah, I saw the "considered" - good weasel word. Good grief. I guess you didn't mean that to be funny, but it sure gave me a good laugh!
Your whole post is absolutely right. Perry was my second choice until Oct. 5th. Now he's my first choice. And I'm way too old to swing.
...I was wondering about Perrys past. A guy with an outsized ego like him is bound to have some skeletons in the closet.
You are just wrong on so many levels, but it is likely that your ill-founded rage will let you see the light:
1) Cain killed himself because he cannot articulate a solid position on specific issues, world events, or even a valid defense of morally-questionable behavior.
2) To lash out with rage against another solidly-conservative candidate like Perry is breaking Reagan's First Rule.
3) Larry Flint had already offered a $1MM bounty to anybody who can provide some dirt on Perry, and so far, that offer has been waiting for over 2 months on a response.
4) When I first told my mom 30 years ago that I was a "Republican", I was quickly hushed as that was a dirty word in Texas at the time. Everyone who was anyone in Texas during the 1970s was a Democrat --even if they did vote Republican on occasion.
5) Supporting Al Gore in 1988 would not have been a big deal if you were a Texas Democrat at the time --better that Dukakis, right?
What other myth-busters do I need to perform?
Says much about you, that does.
